The Lotus

Suggestive of the natural symmetry of a lotus flower, this solid softwood sculpture folds into itself in tight, repeating loops. A tall air plant sits nestled in its center. A walnut color variation is available in this bend. Our sculptures are 100% hand-bent and finished in low VOC water based varnish (matte) in Oakland, CA or Brooklyn, NY. Due to the nature of the steam bending process and the wood itself (softwood, light weight- conifer), each sculpture is unique. Variations in color, graining, and dimensions will exist. Please note that plant variety may fluctuate according to season and availability. Dimensions Approximately 3"x 4.5"x 4.5". Locally made with love, care and sustainable resources.

Production Method	All products are handmade in Oakland, CA or Brooklyn, NY. We use sustainably sourced materials to mill and bend our wooden products. Everything is done in shop by a few people or sometimes just by Jenny. Attention is paid to every detail.

The seller also kindly included a free live airplant that fit the vase perfectly.

Also included was a thoughtful handwritten note and card with details about the process involved in creating these wooden beauties.

Stylish and warm little piece of art (and great responsive communication with the maker)

I really love this - it's stylish and sleek, but brings a little warmth and nature into the room. I also bought a smaller piece to go with this larger one. I exchanged messages with the maker, Jenny, because I was concerned they wouldn't arrive in time for our wedding anniversary (4th anniversary is traditionally marked by wooden gifts, so...). She replied very quickly and took care to make sure the package reached me on time - which it did, in careful packaging. One of the other reviews said this piece was too simple to justify the cost. I think it takes a lot of careful application of steam and pressure to bend and fold wood in this way without it cracking and splintering. The form is simple and elegant, but I don't think that means it's easy to make. And the tillandsia that comes with it is a good size and in great shape compared with some air plants I've seen. So I'd recommend, for sure.

It`s a small piece of unfinished bent wood! That's all, a 1/4 inch strip that was soaked and loosely knotted, I'm an artistic person and can find beauty in almost anything, but this is not worth the price!!!!!! Also the air plant , well, lets say it made me laugh and cry that my dear hubby had picked this item, he was really embarassed that it was so lightweight and disapointing and of course the air plant quickly died, yes we know about airplants, properly cared for it, was sickly from the start.
