These hook and loop fasteners work well... a little too well.

The problem is that the hook and loop bond is stronger than the adhesive bond on a lot of surfaces (such as cloth). So when you attempt to detach the hooks from the loops, the adhesive back peels from the surface instead. Not great!

Here's the tip:
If you have the problem above, just misalign the two surfaces (hook and loop) a bit. So instead of them overlapping exactly, resulting in 100% contact between the hooks and the loops, slide one over so they only overlap by half. This essentially reduced the bond of the hook and loops by 50%, while maintaining the full 100% bond of the adhesive.

The adhesive on these hook and look strips is very very sticky! Which means these are perfect for specific things, and not so great for other things.

I’m using them on the bottom of a small throw rug in the bathroom to keep it from slipping around. The hook and loop strips stay in place on my hard laminate floor and on the back of the rug. I love that I can still pull the carpet up whenever I want to- like when I’m cleaning the floor or if water happens to get under there.

I would not recommend using these to hang anything on the wall or on any surface that you don’t want to damage. They aren’t like the removable hooks that are popular. They are way too sticky and will take paint off of your wall if you ever remove them. But if you’re never wanting to remove them, then these are perfect.

I bought these to mount sound dampening foam on the wall and they probably do the job a little too well...

They arrived in sheets of plastic, with the velcro hooks separate from the soft sides. They're lightweight and abundant, yet still able to hold sizeable objects.

Not being wasteful I wanted to cut out smaller parts so I could have more left over if I ever got more foam.
I made the personal mistake of cutting these *after* removing the plastic film they come on, consequently clogging up my scissors with the *stickiest* adhesive I'm ever seen. Instead of doing the same, please consider cutting them out with the plastic still on, then peeling it off when you have the shape/size you need.

Albeit extremely sticky, they were surprisingly easy to peel off the wall, and left no residue behind.

For whatever your use case, these will definitely do the trick!

I purchased these velcro straps to add to the slats of a bed base to stop them moving around (as is common with IKEA slats and bed frames).
