I have been looking for a solid replacement since my last K830 died and the Arteck Universal Backlit keyboard is the best keyboard I have found so far. It is backlit, has a very nice trackpad, is rechargeable and is almost the same footprint of the K830. The keyboard materials and build quality are very good, especially if you consider the price is around a third of the retail price of the K830.
I had some problem with Bluetooth connectivity with my first one only a few days after taking delivery of the Arteck keyboard, but it was quickly replaced and the new one is working perfectly so far. The keyboard itself is nice quality and feels very solid with good tactile response from the keys and the trackpad is truly exceptional. My hand adapted to the slightly lower placement of the trackpad buttons very quickly and now it is perfectly comfortable and has good action. The backlighting is also very nice and the ability to switch colors is nice as well. The battery charge appears comparable to the K830, perhaps slightly shorter, but still is quite good. It takes a little longer to charge but if you charge it overnight after use, the impact is negligible. There is even a function to tell you approximately how much charge is left that the K830 doesn't have.
All in all I am very happy I have discovered the Arteck keyboard because I was not hopeful I would find such a great alternative after the K830 was discontinued. The K400 from Logitech is a poor substitute because it is not backlit and is cheaply made and just not a great keyboard. If you were a user of the K830, this is a terrific replacement.
The keyboard comes economically packaged in a brown cardboard box that has retail-type manufacturer's information on the outside. Inside the box, the keyboard itself is in a plastic bag and there are two small booklets packed with it. Also in the package is a USBA to USBC charging cable.
The two booklets packaged in with the keyboard are a user manual and a small card from the manufacturer asking you for feedback, either positive or negative, and noting that this has a 2-year warranty.
Looking at the instruction manual, there doesn't seem to be anything unusual listed in the instructions for the keyboard. Before using it, I'm going to charge it up so I've got a full charge on it before I start playing around with it. When I plugged it into charge, the red LED power button lit up solidly, so it's accepting the charge. While to do its thing. ( A quick look at the instruction booklet shows me that the red light will turn green when the battery is full)
The battery charges very slowly. I have a charging cable that will tell me how many watts the device is pulling while it's being charged, and the keyboard only pulls one watt of power. That's just a little tiny bit. By comparison, my smartphone pulls about 12 watts of power. Another quick glance at the instruction booklet tells me it may take 2 hours to fully charge the unit. I left it on charge for a while, and the little red LED does indeed turn green when the battery is fully charged.
I tried to keyboard with two different Bluetooth devices, a PC and my Smart TV. It paired with both devices without too much difficulty, and I think that's pretty good considering these are two completely different devices that run on two different operating systems. Systems. Using the keyboard is simple as pi, once you're paired it operates just like your laptop keyboard would. One thing I did have to go back and refer to the instruction booklet, to put the keyboard into pairing mode. You have to click ‘function’ and the letter ‘c’ at the same time. If you look very closely and the 'c' button, there is a little diagram there, [which is a little hard to see unless you look closely]for the Bluetooth symbol.
All in all, it works just fine.

It also has allowed me to access a phone that had lost most of it's screen usability when the screen cracked. By connecting the keyboard, I am able to use a cursor on the phone screen and have full use of that phone again! Wonderful keyboard at a competitive price! and delivery was much faster than anticipated!
- First full charge only lasted a day but since then I can get about three days of near-consistent use out of it with trackpad in semi-mode
- Using the trackpad in semi-mode (can only scroll move the cursor using the trackpad, have to use the click buttons below the trackpad) significantly improves battery life
- I am able to select from two brightness levels and turn it off entirely if not needed.
- Typing is a very comfortable experience
- Trackpad is a decent size and well positioned, click buttons are easy to press
The reasons I have deducted a star:
- Lack of connection profiles present on other Arteck products. I bought this as I switch between a Mac for work and a PC for personal use. If I want to reconnect to my Mac after using the keyboard on my PC I have to forget the connection on my Mac, enable connecting mode on the keyboard and then reconnect my Mac. Same when switching from Mac to PC.
- Three finger swiping does not work on the Mac regardless of whether it is on semi or full mode.
Initial impressions:
- Sturdy feel - well built
- Key feel - reassuringly positive, not to light or flimsy
- Great range of colours and brightness control
- Compact but "full size" layout
- Good size touchpad - not too large or small
- Back lights power off automatically after a short timeout, only reactivating on key-press (not touchpad or L/R button)
Minor negatives:
- Well it is Bluetooth so that will always add some variations in how well your keyboard connects to your devices, so far for me it's been mainly ok (some stuttering when streaming video and listening via BT earbuds, YMMV depending on your host system/device..)
- On wake from suspend, sometimes I have had to power on and off a couple of times before regain control of input
- Small bezel, so if you are a WFH sofa warrior who likes to use the keyboard on your lap, you will likely grab the edge of the touchpad or buttons when picking it up
- No dedicated multimedia keys (vol controls are allocated as standard to the F1-3 keys)
- Matte plastic finish - prone to greasy finger staining
- On my Ubuntu 22.04 the natural scrolling only works 2 finger moving the content rather then viewpoint
- Back lights - could be dimmer for the key edges and can clearly see the main LEDs between Ctrl+Fn and Alt+Space but not overbearing unlike some other cheapo TV box type mini keyboards
Battery life I can't comment on yet but it's unlikely to be an issue unless you happen to be without your USB C cable for more than a day or two
I have not yet used this keyboard for long so initial impressions may change over time but for now - recommended!

Cons:
Not compatible with a bluetooth dongle.
Can't connect to SAMSUNG smart or TV (device isn't detected).
Range is not great: if placed on a table, 2 metres from device, the touchpad was not accurate at all.
Slight lag between pressing keys and responding on device - introduces errors if you type fast.
Frustrating: it's a mid-priced device which is fantastic build-quality and looks/feels great but there's no way to connect it to my TV (which is why I bought it). I even tried with a BT dongle and USB cable - just wouldn't connect. Shame, it looks really good! To be fair, I suppose it's more because my TV isn't compatible with the keyboard (it was detected and connected immediately to my Laptop) - I just wish someone could make a decent keyboard that's compatible with SAMSUNG TV's - I'm getting tired of buying things that don't work with it. I'll keep it as it's a really nice keyboard, hopefully I'll find a use for it in the future.
Highly Recommended keyboard (just don't buy it for a SAMSUNG Smart TV).
I spent the better part of a year looking for a premium replacement to the K400 and found that most of the good options from other providers (such as the K83 from Corsair and Logitech's own K830) are either incredibly difficult to find for already high list prices (£100+) or have been discontinued completely. Eventually, however, I started searching through non-premium keyboards and was pleased to find this one from Arteck which had great reviews and decided to buy one.
Long story short I'm incredibly pleased: the keyboard is very comfortable to use - unlike the K400 where each key is closer together than on a regular keyboard, the Arteck has standard key spacing and that, plus the very tactile, clicky keys makes the keyboard incredibly comfortable to type on. The touchpad, too, is much more responsive and smooth to use, with big left and right click buttons below it that also feel great to press. And there's a backlight with adjustable colours for each key, too - which makes the keyboard a bit easier to use in a darkened room than the K400 or other unlit keyboards would be. Another minor - but nice - touch - is the shape of the keys - letter and number keys are slightly concave and function/modifyer keys (like control/alt/arrow keys) are slightly convex - helping you find your way around the keyboard more easily while touch-typing.
The build quality is great: very little flex to the housing and each key and button is completely fixed in its socket, unlike the k400 which I found to have both of these issues. The keyboard connects over standard bluetooth and I've been exclusively using it on a Windows 11 PC with a motherboard based bluetooth antenna - this has meant I've had a flawless connection since I started using it and no issues with dropping signal or lag - but I guess your milage could vary based on your setup.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this keyboard: for me it was a fantastic upgrade from the K400 - which had just enough drawbacks to frustrate me using it everday - and I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it as a keyboard for a media PC, tablet, nintendo switch, etc - provided their bluetooth connectivity is stable enough.
