I liked this because there wasn't so much angst as in the first story. That was sort of the problem though, waiting for something to actually happen. It was readable but just filled with detail after detail of almost every single day. It was nice, seeing Eric and Troy get together and I wanted to see what happened with them. It was also good to see Sage and Win having a good life together. Most of it, though, was Troy doing stupid things to prove and test himself. That did cause some conflict but ended up with too much of the book being about hospitals and recovery.

I also got a little irritated with dialogue. I know it's just the authors writing style but it felt overwhelming at times. They don't laugh, they Hoot and Cackle. Everything Rocks On, or just Rocks. Everyone is called Honey or a Stud. Maybe it's a Texas thing.

I enjoyed this book - the characters had physical challenges from the Mideast war and a motorcycle accident. It seemed to pretty accurate showing the experiences both postive and negative of dealing with challenges without getting completely bogged down details and losing the romance.

This is book two, and I’ve done both one and now two. I would recommend doing book one first. First, it’s brilliant. But more importantly, the characters from one play a major role in this book and to understand some of what is said it’s best to read/listen to one.

Eric and Adam served together,so when Eric is hurt and discharged Adam is Eric only option. Eric family disowned him for being gay a long time ago. Although they do call to remind him how disappointed they are.

Troy is Sage’s PT guy and best friend. Troy also has limitations that at first no one tells Eric about.

When Eric first moves in he’s miserable, he’s hip hurts, he feels useless and and basically mad at the world. Sage and Adam convenes him to start seeing Troy for PT, this has a rocky start but as this friendship develops so does the heat factor for both parties.

The problem is Troy is a daredevil adrenaline junkie, and Eric just wants the new love of his life to be safe. What Troy hasn’t told anyone, the reason why.

I have to admit, I’m a huge B.A fan! And I LOVED audio one. so jumped on audio two. But when I heard that both had physical injuries I was nervous. I’m not big on the whole I’m going to one up you game. But this book wasn’t like that at all.

What we do have is two men falling in love, both trying to heal, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Finding there way in a new life, with the help of family and friends. Knowing that these two are going to have that HEA forever.

These two are so perfect together, loved way we got to learn right along with Eric. Enjoyed revisiting some old friends in Adam and Sage.

Hoping that maybe Noah’s book is next?

The narrator did a perfect job capturing everyone’s accents, from the Cajun to the Texas draw.

Despite the fact that scenes within this book nearly gave me a heart attack more than once, Tortuga has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her writing is smooth, her characters are authentic, and the love between them is beautiful. The Articles of Release was no exception and I found myself falling in love with Eric and Troy – even as I wanted to throttle Troy on several occasions. His siblings were lucky he was the baby because had he been the firstborn, at least half that brood wouldn’t have been born.

Tortuga wastes no time in getting to the meat of the story with Eric’s introduction. In a matter of pages we learn that this career-military man suffered a life-changing injury, his family turned their back on him when they learned he was gay, and he has only one person he THINKS he can call on for help as he transitions from the military to civilian life. Fortunately, that person is Adam Winchester and Adam doesn’t even hesitate to offer his and Sage’s help and home to Eric. This not only gives fans of the series a chance to catch up with the pocket cowboy and his husband, but Sage’s own physical condition puts Eric at ease because Sage and Adam understand him in ways most people cannot. It’s also beneficial because Sage is able to introduce Eric to his personal trainer, Troy, who is helping him recover from the knee surgeries. And while Eric makes a complete and utter arse of himself during their first meeting, Troy gives Eric a second chance while he himself is recuperating from an injury. As the two men take down their walls and get to know one another, their initial antagonism fades rather quickly and the sparks begin to fly.

When I picked up 'The Articles of Release' by B.A. Tortuga, I wondered whether my first impression of her, as a writer, from reading her first book in this series, would still hold true. I'm happy to say, it absolutely did. I like the flow of the writing, the down-home, country reality of it that isn't forced. This woman knows Texas, and it shows. She also knows strong, stubborn, willful men, and I'm guessing she had brothers. Or her best friends were all guys. *grins* I was really happy to see more of Adam (Win) and Sage, also, since I fell in love with them during their story.

Eric and Troy have got to be some of my most favorite couples. I love the friendship that develops between them. Well, after Eric apologizes for putting his foot in it. How was he supposed to know Troy didn't have any legs the first time he met him? Eric was feeling sad for himself, and angry, and miscommunication abounded. Luckily for Eric, Troy is pretty easygoing and lets him apologize. Of course, that might've been because Troy, "Mr. Adrenaline Junkie", had just had his second motorcycle crash of his life. The first, when he was fourteen, is how he lost his legs. Stubborn man figured he needed to try it again, just to say he did. *rolls eyes*

So Troy, as a trainer, started working with Eric the same way he's been working with Sage after Sage had both knees replaced after his bashing. It was sweet and fun to watch their friendship grow during their training sessions. Friendship and desire, that is. Until one day, they both just put it out on the table, and yowza they were scorching. Of course, to a degree, I could completely understand their touch hunger. Handicapped people rarely get touched, except in a clinical fashion.
