100 of America's finest artists are featured in this grand, full color display of lush verde rolling hills, magestic horse farms, historic stone homes, and battle changing winters.

And what a subject. Quillman's work seems to draw from bottomless stores of knowledge about this thriving community; no doubt she had enough material for a trilogy. The great accomplishment here was the judiciousness with which Quillman distilled the portfolios of so many working artists (including those not among the 100) into one volume--not unlike a curator deciding what to exhibit and what to keep in storage.
The book has a flaw or two, notably some unfortunate copyediting and proofreading misses--which can be found even in titles from the largest houses. Yet given the state of the publishing industry, the miracle is that this publisher and this author were able to bring such a fascinating title to market as successfully as they have. I hope they and the artists, photographers, museums, and galleries listed in the directory at the back of the book all reap some well deserved economic rewards as a result of this loving tribute.
