I ordered 2 lanterns which were shipped about mid-September. After inserting the batteries (brand new) I found that one lantern did not work at all and the other produced less light, (on the highest setting) than a typical bathroom "nite lite" with one Christmas tree bulb.

I called the 800 number on the invoice to complain, and requested the return address and a refund. The rep' looked up the order/shipping record and informed me that they could not be returned or refunded as "they must be returned or a complaint filed within 30 days"....."Sorry we cannot help you, that's our policy, have a nice day, goodbye."

The 30 day cut-off was not stated on the invoice in writing as it should be. I then relayed my story to the credit card co. where it was billed and they agreed that if "100% satisfaction is guaranteed and the product is defective" I cannot be charged regardless of the shippers "policy". So hopefully the charge can be reversed and the card company can put some pressure on them.

I will definitely not order from Telebrands again, as it appears that 80% of the customers who purchased these were not satisfied. The lanterns were cheaply made, advertising is false, and they are totally worthless. Later I saw similar lanterns in a discount store for only $8 and for a few dollars more you can get a good Coleman camp lantern which is dependable.

Extremely lousy product. They say on tv that it lights up the room and lights up the patio at night. Total sham. The light is very dim, even when adjusted to the highest level. It lacks the lighting ability of one small candle. Outside, its range is an amazing two feet! Do not purchase this product.

The commercial leads you to believe this lantern will light up the room. It does NOT. Now, I'm not saying I expected it to be like lamps were on, but you get the same amount of light as from one candle.

If you can get it for $10 or maybe $15, it may be a good deal. But not at $20. I would NOT buy it again.

The whole commercial is a big sham. It is misleading. The lantern is not what you see on commercial. While ordering the product, they bill your credit card without showing you your total purchase. This is illigal. When you call customer service, an agent will say she cannot offer any help because she can't find the item number. Simply, the product is not good

Realistically, this should be a dollar store item - it's just really, really poorly made. The on/dimmer switch works about 60% of the time. The output is sufficient to light the path immediately in front of you (if you hold it a foot or so off the ground), but it's not enough light to read by. Save your money.

Everyone should know: LED's can last UP TO 100,000 hours. However, they make this sound like this lantern will light for that long, and it will not. You will have to change the batteries well before that mark, probably after about 30 - 50 hours of use, like any LED flashlight on the market today. Buyer, be informed!

I can get as much light from a votive candle. I can't wait until Monday so I can call these people and return this product. "If it sounds to good to be true, IT IS!"
