I also have an issue with a couple of the books in this series where the girls are physically hurt and the guys can't keep their hands off them long enough to allow them to take a shower and down some painkillers. Zero control and zero compassion.
Having said that the action and suspense is getting better with each of the books but I still feel they are over sexed (and I love my sexy books) to the detriment of the story sometimes.
Juliette is in a bit of a pickle. In fact, she's stuck in treacle mud by the looks of things and getting in deeper by the day. Mistakes she made in the past have her bound to a very manipulative man Sebastian who uses her for his purposes. She thought she was making a bad situation better by hiding it from her mother but only made it worse.
Of course, Ash is determined to find out what Juliette is hiding and will do anything to have the woman he is falling for safe. Ash and Juliette together totally sizzled and I was cheering them on. Ash really knew how to treat a woman.
The pacing of the story is at a steady rate. But one of my peeves with this books is the use of coincidences as plot device. It kind of weakened a great story.
Overall, this steamy romance is right up my street and an easy read. I hadn't read the previous books in the series but I didn't feel lost or confused while reading this one. Happy to recommend this.

I volunteered to review this book.
Heat ... there was definitely a lot of it. One of the reasons I gave it a four instead of a five though was came down to some unbelievable elements in this story. Probably just personal nit picking things really but some of the situations Jules finds herself in, I wouldn't be dying to have sex right after or even want to be touched. So those elements were very hard for me to believe and handle on her behalf. That being said, the heat was definitely there between Ash and Jules. This is definitely an insta-love story so if that's not your thing, ASH won't be for you.
All in all, a very enjoyable read and I recommend giving it a shot even if you are not familiar with the rest of the men of the Jagged Edge Security team.
