There are not enough stars in the galaxy for Ashes to Ashes. How do you put together a review for a book like this one. I can write all these words in the world, but none of them will do justice for how I am feeling. I don't want to come off as repetitive, because that would be an insult. I sit here, after just finishing Ashes to Ashes, trying my hardest to explain to you all what I felt, what I feel and how much I am in love with book.

Where do I start? The plot? The characters? The author? The love? The steam? The swooning? The moments that I was so scared I had to keep all the lights on to go to the bathroom? The creepy kids? The hardcore fan girling that is going on right now?

THE PLOT: So 8 books. That is how many books are in this series. You would think after so many books in a series, the plots would start to get boring. well screw that. Karina Halle does not do boring. She does scary, she does freighting, she does "pull up your big girl panties, grab your blanky, turn on your night light and pray your children are not going to jump out at you later". This is by far the scariest plot in the series. I WAS SO SCARED. My stomach hurt the entire book and I was so freaking nervous. I wouldn't read it at night. NOPE, NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

You see I have 3 little girls and they like to hide in corners and jump out at me. If they had done this while I was reading this book, I would have pissed my pants. LEGIT PISSED MY PANTS. I made sure to stay clear of them during the entire time I read this book. BAD MOM MOMENT.

I shouldn’t be surprised that Karina Halle wrote with Ashes to Ashes another five star book –for me- and I can only say, this woman tops her own writing. I’ve never been hooked on a series longer than a trilogy; so you see, A2A is book 8 in the Experiment in Terror series (yep you’ve read correct – THE 8th BOOK!!) and I’m still head over heels for this series.

If you thought Dead Sky Morning, On Demon Wings or Into the Hollow was creepy, ha then just wait until you read Ashes to Ashes!! I was reading it with all the lights on because I was about to pee my pants –and I’m not a wuss. But let me tell you what you can expect when reading A2A

Welcome to Sea Crest Sanatorium
A Sanatorium were thousands of young kids lost their life due to TB; were thousands of lost souls were haunting the crap out of Dex, Perry, Rebecca … and me!

Are you ready??? Ready for ”the children of the damned? Toddlers from hell? Well you better be ready ‘cause for certain they are ready for YOU!

”I felt the darkness sitting on either side of us, the coldness of the tunnel seeping into my clothes.”….. I didn’t know what was worse-the void in front of us or the black emptiness behind us.”

Yeah ladies, that was the moment I was starting to feel CREEPED THE F*** OUT!! Oh but if you know Karina, you know she’s going into nice detail; details that make your skin crawl, your hair stand up, and giving you enough material to have the best nightmares ever. She spooked the be-jesuses out of me because I never knew what’s coming next!! I hope you’re ready for a creepy but amazing read; it’s definitely my fave creepy EIT book in the series.

Now to Dex and Perry.

I have been counting down the days until BOOK #8 came out. COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS PEOPLE. Like wake up and immediately think how many days until Ashes to Ashes is MINE.
I LOVED this book. Obviously, I would say that. I am a HUGE fan of the Experiment in Terror series. I am in love with Dex (Helllo) and want to hang out in a Perry and Rebecca sandwich. Not to mention go on a ghost hunt, hang with fat rabbit, have Ada dress me, eat at Uncle Al’s, it just goes on and on. I ADORE Karina Halle!!!!!!!
When I think of why I love this series so much I come up with so many reasons. But what it comes down to for me is how Karina can create stories within stories. It’s the atmosphere she creates and the people she writes that draw you in. It’s never one story or one genre it’s so much more than that.
This series is for you, reader!! It has something for everyone. And it comes with a kick ass author (to stalk…in a good way ;) and community to hold your hand through Dex withdrawals.
Ok, Ashes to Ashes!!!!
I missed you Perry!!!!!!!!!! Man, has she been through some shit. She never fails to show us how to be brave and real and sexy. Damn girl!!!! I am really proud of Perry. I love you girl!!!
I have to talk about Rebecca because she plays a bigger role in this book and I was wondering if she was going to be a third wheel and then I was like, shit it’s Rebecca she could never be a third wheel. I love that sassy minx. Interesting stuff going on with her.
DEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I love me some Dex. He is my #1. He brings the swoon!!!!! Don’t you die-hards worry about that. It’s there, BIG TIME!
I love Perry and Dex in this book!!!! I am so happy for them.
CREEPY!!!!!!!!!!! In true Karina style she has the romance (thank you, darling) and the HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!
