I love The Bengsons. Their music makes me feel connected, alive and relevant. If you like this song, take the time to find the rest of their music. It is irresistible, contagiously inspiring and good for the spirit!

The Bengsons are some of my favorite musicians. Their songs are touching, musically complex and interesting, emotionally arresting, and very accessible all at the same time. At its best, their music can break people down and open them up, while making them want to laugh and sing at the top of their lungs.
If you're new to them, I highly recommend you check out their other music. They have two other albums and an EP on Amazon, and they're all great. Each has a different sound, so give them all a listen!

I'm not sure if the Bengsons were going for mythical when they created this song, but it reminds one of a phoenix; the mythical bird that perpetually dies and is reborn from it's own ashes. The song has such and eerie build to it. The beginning has an electric thrumming that puts me in mind of Thom Yorke Hearing Damage. The notes of the singers voice are emotional filled with pain, longing, and desperation. Then the crescendo builds and you are swept up in to a peak of powerful drums and sweet climbing tones. It is beautiful. I saw this song on So You Think You Can Dancr, where Alexis and Nico performed a haunting and beautiful dance to it. If you like music that can move you to the point you feel on fire you would love this song.
