It's a great story and one that I encourage you to read and enjoy.
Angela London has just been released from prison for drug dealing and is trying to rebuild her life. She and her partner start a new business of training dogs to be aides to blind people.
One day, Brian Ramsey, a famous football quarterback arrives and is interested in obtaining one of her dogs. Angela has never heard of Brian and is at first hesitant, not understanding why a person like him would need a dog. It turns out that Brian had abused drugs early in his career, and now is losing his sight because of that abuse.
Enter Andrew Brogg, an investigative reporter hell-bent on proving that the only reason that Angela and Brian are together is that they must be running a drug cartel.
No matter their protest of innocence, Brogg is determined to destroy them so that he can further his career with a headline news story.
Passion and dispair entwine the two lead characters until finally, Brogg is able to set up a trap that gives him the story he needs.
Follow the exciting in's and out's as two souls, alone and trapped in their own worlds find escape and joy though Faith in God and trust in each other.
Escape to Happiness
I thought it was interesting how the author brought everything together. There is a journalist who has a beef with both characters and wants to expose their pasts. Then there is someone from Angelia's past that can ruin any happiness either she or Brian is trying to find. The way the author writes about Brian's losing his sight was great. He left a strong character remain strong even after his sight is gone. The way he felt about Angela was sweet and left him the hero in the end...
Great story about a manly man going blind!
Adding another coal to the fire, Andrew Brogg shows up to write a newspaper article designed to bring shame, not fame, to Brian. Andrew finds links to Brian's drug history and twists the truth to make his own name famous.
Brian's foundation, The Beanstalk Gang, helps kids find their place in the world. When one of the kids is arrested, Andrew is quick to link Brian's name to trouble once again.
Angela is sure her drug past will give Andrew more fuel if he thinks she and Brian are dating. Should she back away from Brian to save his name and his foundation?
If only that would work. A very scary Tommy pops up at the most inconvenient times.
The Beanstalk Gang held my interest. I wanted to finish the book to make sure Brian's kids were safe.
