The strainer is well made and feels sturdy- the wire parts are not flimsy at all & are attached well to the handle. I do feel that the handle is almost too short, and the strainer part is almost too small, but I only cook for two so it suits my needs -and it fits in my kitchen drawer (a larger one would not).If you cook larger quantities of food though, I'd recommend going up to the bigger size. I'm a fairly petite woman and in the photo you can see the basket is only slightly larger than my hand.I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher because of the bamboo handle, but so far it's been easy enough to clean.It works well for me and I'm happy with my purchase.
