Editorial Reviews

Review

"Aubrey nails her second book in this series. The writing is first class and the storyline is original and fresh. A must read." - (Karen's Book Haven-Top 50 reviewer for Amazon.com.au)

"I simply couldn't put the book down apart form to sleep, then it was" just one more chapter " just one more chapter" I LOVE BRIAN he may just be my newest and favourite book boyfriend, equal mix of alpha and sensitive male." - (Mrs. Kebabs Kindle)

"This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites!! I really loved Tell Me Something and couldn't wait to see what she wrote after that one. This was easily a 5 AMAZEBALLS stars read for me!!" - (Tabitha-Amazeballs Book Addicts)

"When we read Aubrey Bondurant's debut novel "Tell Me Something," we concluded she was a writer to watch. With the release of her second book, we are more than happy to see our judgment confirmed. Written with intelligence, empathy, and--above all--passion, "Ask Me Something" turns up the heat and delivers a story that will engage you on all levels as it sweeps you along on an emotional thrill ride. The author's feeling for the foibles, failings, strengths and struggles of her characters lifts her work out far out of the tepid predictability and shopworn tropes of so much mainstream romance into another realm entirely. Settle in and enjoy! And if Aubrey Bondurant spoils you for other romance writers, don't say we didn't warn you. - (Pleiades Web Press)

"This book was amazing. Absolutely everything you need in a book, right here. Great job Aubrey. Can't wait for book 3." - (Tara-LLEP Book Blog)

About the Author

Hi, my name is Aubrey and I'm a working mom who loves to read, write and travel. If you were to describe my writing style, I'd say it's "Adult Contemporary Erotic Romantic Comedy". How's that for a mouthful? Picture chick-lit with the sex scenes or "smutty chick lit" and there you have it! :-) When I'm not working full time, or spending time with my family I'm on my keyboard typing away on my next story. I only wish there were more hours of the day! I'm a former member of the military and passionate about veteran charities and giving back to the community. I love a big drooly dog, a fantastic margarita, and football. Follow me on Facebook, Goodreads or sign up for my newsletter for the latest information! Romance, humor, and drama – all wrapped into one book.

First, let’s talk romance. Again, Bondurant breaks away from the normal workplace romance. This isn’t a lust at first sight book where the weak woman falls at the feet of her boss. Their relationship is based on years of friendship. Sasha is a remarkably strong and successful woman and has a fabulously quick-wit tongue. Brian is more easy going and enjoys Sasha’s challenging smart mouth. While he may have a laid-back personality, he surprisingly demands control in the bedroom. However, he’s not into pain play. He’s all about pleasurable torture, making the steamy scenes very HOT. Also, he notes that he’s not opposed to Sasha’s occasional desire of control when she states, “Maybe I want to be spontaneous and take you in my mouth without permission some morning.”

There’s tons of humor woven throughout the story – too many to quote, but here’s one:

Sasha gives Brian’s 22 year-old sister advice on what to do if the man she is attracted to does’t feel the same, “Okay, You get a big glass of wine, buy yourself a good vibrator, and you say to hell with him. If he can’t realize that you’re a catch, McKensie, then it’s his loss.”

There’s well-written drama from all directions: family, work, and of course the relationship.

The happily-ever-after included a few delightful twists that left me smiling for days.

This is the first book I've read by Aubrey Bondurant, and I absolutely LOVED it! WHAT AN AMAZING STORY!

Sasha Brooks has been focused on having a great career her whole life. Now she's newly promoted as a Vice President in a New York City advertising company. She's beautiful, driven, and fierce, but she's hiding a huge secret that she won't let anyone close enough to find out about. Brian Carpenter has had a secret thing for his newest VP, but Sasha won't let anyone close to her. For 8 years, they have flirted, but she won't let it get any further, until she believes he's with someone else, so she finally takes a chance and says something. So Brian proposes an arrangement with set rules. Will Sasha finally be able to let go of control?

I never know what to expect when I read an author new to me, but Ask Me Something blew me away. The character development is fantastic, with an addicting, well written story line that flows very smoothly. Aubrey Bondurant does a fantastic job hooking me from the beginning, and holding me hostage until I finished. Her talented writing style pulled out my emotions like I was physically in the story, with well placed humor that had me laughing hard. The chemistry is tangible, which made the sexy scenes FIERY HOT, and hot flash worthy. I simply CANNOT WAIT to read more from this author, so I happily HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sasha has earned the nickname Sasha B Fierce for the take charge attitude she has but not everything is as it seems. Brian her boss has the laid back attitude which is the opposite of Sasha but they make it work. Brian and Sasha were supposed to get together a couple years ago but Brian made an excuse and baled. Sasha has always been attracted to Brian so when he suggested an agreement where she gives up control in the bedroom to him Sasha agrees but there is a lot of disagreements to the rules. Sasha becomes the lead on a big advertising campaign she has a really hard time because Vanessa the client on the account feels threatened by women and is chasing after Brian. Brian does try to keep the peace but sometimes he fails to do the right thing and Sasha calls him on it. It was really nice to read how such a strong woman has issues of her own and how a guy who is so good with people keeps messing up his relationship with Sasha. It can be read as a standalone but I felt like I knew more about the characters having read the first book.

I have to start out, I loved Tell Me Something so was looking forward to Ask Me Something. Let me say I was not disappointed. Sasha to the outside world she seems "perfect", but as we all know there is no such thing. I am a huge fan of authors making characters relatable as well as an escape from our everyday lives. In a nutshell Sasha is that character. Then you add Brian into the mix and WHAM you have a 5 star book. In the sea of insecurities Brian is Sasha's anchor.

I had a love hate relationship of sorts with this book. Before you get the wrong impression, let me explain.

I loved this book so much that I hated when I got tired or my phone rang and I especially hated when it ended. I was more than happy to stay in Brian and Sasha's world basking in their love and devotion.

While this is a beautiful love story, its not all roses and the characters all have flaws and their own problems to deal with, just like real people which I loved.

I would love to know if Kenzie gets her man though and if Catherine finds the love she deserves.

I will be looking out for the next book in this series!

I have read both the first book and now this second book in The Something Series, and highly recommend both. Each book was sexy, funny, and even made me cry. You know the book is "that good" when you get that involved with the characters of the book. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
