I left this book thinking of it as a realist's alternative to "The Secret". Whereas that book left me disillusioned and, quite honestly, filled with a bunch of unanswered pipe-dream prayers, "Asking God For The Gifts He Wants To Give You" lays the foundation for what is essentially the perfect prayer when seeking something from God. And it highlights the fact that sometimes answered prayers come in the most unlikely of forms.
Along the way, this book taught me much more than how to ask things from God. It improved my relationship with, and my understanding of, Our Father. I feel more connected with God having read it. What a priceless gift that is. It's a quick read; I have re-read it twice already because it lifted my spirit so. This is one of those books you don't keep in the bookcase, but on your nightstand. Close to you, so it will be a constant source of inspiration.
