Taking Shots

Shea and Elli were great. She had self-confidence issues due to what her mother and sister put her through. I’m glad she found a man like Shea. He is good for her.

I wish we could have seen them get married but that seem to be skipped.

We also didn’t see Harper and Jakob’s story. They were kinda of along for the ride in this one.

Trying to Score

Fallon and Lucas have a long history. Fallon kept the secret of having Lucas’ son Aiden. He is a hoot!

Fallon was still in love with Lucas and vice versa. They had to go through a lot of pain that wasn’t necessary.

In the end, they found their HEA. Aiden got a mommy and daddy fulltime.

Empty Net

Audrey and Tate

Audrey give herself enough credit to be loved. She was taking crap from Levi and all she wanted was someone to love her with all her flaws.

Tate was new in town but lost his family in a tragic car accident. He moved in right beside Audrey. They had a one night fling but didn’t know they were neighbors until a couple of weeks later.

Needless to say, they found their HEA!

Falling for the Backup

Jordan was a struggling hockey player and was the backup to Tate since his injury. He wanted to stay with the Assassins but that wasn’t going to happen.

Aynslee just wanted to find a man to love her. She was a successful teacher but her personal life didn’t match.

Jordan got a new team and his love went with him. Cute short story.

Blue Lines

Erik and Piper were a hot mess. She loved this man for many years and had the opportunity to sleep with him. When she did, she got pregnant.

Erik had to quit his sleeping with every woman that walked. But in turn, he found his family.

I have to say Elli has a good hand in match making. Lol

They made me laugh, she made me cry,I loved these characters, I'm going to miss them. I hope she will write at least one more Assassin book, Phillip needs some love and so does Reese, give at least one of them a book. The sex was hot, the hockey and situations were real, I'm glad people are writing hockey books now. I'll be glad to read any of her books in the future, had trouble putting the book down at night, had to usually wait until my kindle battery died! Tribute to her mother made me cry, I lost my mother 5years age this week, and she was my best friend!

If I were reviewing each book separately, I would give the first book a much lower rating.

That being said, overall, this series is great. I've read all of them and can't wait for the next one to come out! I purchased these as a bundle and honestly, if I had simply purchased Taking Shots, I probably wouldn't have read the rest of them, but I am glad I did. Aleo's writing style grows as the stories progress and I enjoy her work more and more as time goes on. I prefer books written in the first person, but the view in these books was ok for me.

If you like stories about hot hockey players, pick this up. You'll probably hate the women in the series more than you like them, but to have drama, I suppose you sometimes have to write characters that people don't like.

I'm a huge hockey fan of the Colorado avalanche of course but I can recognize the fictious names similar to the real names that are attached to the Nashville predators. Like Shea & Ellie's story with names like Shea webber but in this book it shea Adler ( which I also love because it's my last name) and Ellie fisher (similar to a mike fisher married to Carrie underwood) I love that Shea loves Ellie even when she thinks she's fat and has an embarrassing family. Next story Fallon and Lucas brooks which is incredibly cute and I love the child they make . Third story is crazy and amazing I love Aa and Tate odder, Tate is like twelve but I just see him as an amazing hockey player and there are people on the avalanche from Sweden who look like grown men and they are like twelve but lead the hockey team. I also love pipers story I'm glad she gets a good ending. To me this whole thing really shows the hockey and the love that can surround hockey. If you like romance and semi like hockey this is for you or if you love hockey and romance than this is really for you. Awesome series I love it.

Cannot believe I picked this 5 book bundle up for only $3.99. I figured even if I didn't like it I was still getting 5 books for a great price! What made me look into this author was a vlog she posted on facebook and was shared by another another whom I enjoy. Someone had read Toni's latest book and decided it was too pricey and returned it. I completely agreed with the author, if you read it, you should have kept it (the person loved the book). The only time I've ever returned a book was when I one-clicked on accident. I did NOT read the book and immediately returned it. Sure, there have been books that were horrible and I wish I hadn't invested my money, but i read them through and didn't feel right returning them. Anyways, with that said, I became invested with these characters. I don't personally like the writing style (not a jab toward the author, this is just my personal taste) but my interest grew with each novel as to where the characters were headed. The first book is my favorite. Shea and Elli remained my faves throughout! Give this series a try.
