Shea and Elli were great. She had self-confidence issues due to what her mother and sister put her through. I’m glad she found a man like Shea. He is good for her.
I wish we could have seen them get married but that seem to be skipped.
We also didn’t see Harper and Jakob’s story. They were kinda of along for the ride in this one.
Trying to Score
Fallon and Lucas have a long history. Fallon kept the secret of having Lucas’ son Aiden. He is a hoot!
Fallon was still in love with Lucas and vice versa. They had to go through a lot of pain that wasn’t necessary.
In the end, they found their HEA. Aiden got a mommy and daddy fulltime.
Audrey and Tate
Audrey give herself enough credit to be loved. She was taking crap from Levi and all she wanted was someone to love her with all her flaws.
Tate was new in town but lost his family in a tragic car accident. He moved in right beside Audrey. They had a one night fling but didn’t know they were neighbors until a couple of weeks later.
Needless to say, they found their HEA!
Falling for the Backup
Jordan was a struggling hockey player and was the backup to Tate since his injury. He wanted to stay with the Assassins but that wasn’t going to happen.
Aynslee just wanted to find a man to love her. She was a successful teacher but her personal life didn’t match.
Jordan got a new team and his love went with him. Cute short story.
Erik and Piper were a hot mess. She loved this man for many years and had the opportunity to sleep with him. When she did, she got pregnant.
Erik had to quit his sleeping with every woman that walked. But in turn, he found his family.
I have to say Elli has a good hand in match making. Lol
That being said, overall, this series is great. I've read all of them and can't wait for the next one to come out! I purchased these as a bundle and honestly, if I had simply purchased Taking Shots, I probably wouldn't have read the rest of them, but I am glad I did. Aleo's writing style grows as the stories progress and I enjoy her work more and more as time goes on. I prefer books written in the first person, but the view in these books was ok for me.
If you like stories about hot hockey players, pick this up. You'll probably hate the women in the series more than you like them, but to have drama, I suppose you sometimes have to write characters that people don't like.

Toni Aleo is such a fantastic author. Not only does she make it a love story but she also knows the ins and outs of hockey. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Amazon Customer
I purchased all of the books in this series, but only read the first three before I got fed up with the extremely bitchy attitudes of each of the heroines. Read morePublished 1 month ago by P. James
I like the series so I liked the book, but I really don't like the main characters. Lucas is a cocky douche, and I'd never be willing to deal with that if I was with someone. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Danielle hammond
This series quickly became my favorite! Each story is unique in its own way but each is laugh out loud funny at times and heart wrenching at others. Read morePublished 6 months ago by Julie Crain
Once again, her writing has brought me to fits of laughter as well as ugly crocodile tears. Keep on keepin' on!Published 7 months ago by Amazon Customer
