Best of the Assassin Creed Series
Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2018
I've been playing Odyssey for a week and I'm at level 20. My opinion is this is the best of all the Assassin Creed series edging out Black Flag. I have not bought any of the "special perks" that Ubisoft sells so I'm playing the game as it comes out of the box. The world in this game is huge and will take a lot of time to explore. So far zero glitches and one major improvement is you can now climb any feature or cliff. The fighting is also been improved as has the skill update system. HINT: two skills you want to get early is the "Second Wind-regain 25% health" and right above it the "Shield Breaker-stun within 3 feet" and the "Spartan Kick". The first two should enable you to defeat enemies who are 1-2 levels above you. Another HINT would be to stack skills and "engravings" benefits instead of spreading them across numbers attributes. Other than managing your skills there are no cheats or short cuts. Around level 12 and above you will likely start finding some legendary gear that you can continuously update to keep it at your current level but that requires resources. Early on you can sell all you excess gear but at about level 15 you will need to start dismantling some of it to get the resources needed to do upgrades. I recommend dismantling all the basic and half the two gear, sell the other half of the blue and all purple (epic). Odyssey has a lot of naval action and quest. The sailing and naval battling are exactly like Black Flag but with a number of minor improvements. The ship upgrade system is notably improved. The naval battles are a nice break from doing the regular land based missions.Obviously, I recommend the game and compliment Ubisoft on the improvements while maintaining the core elements of the series.
