Great songs, but a mixed bag #2

I love the shantys the sailors sing on the ship in the game while looting and pillaging on the high seas! Unfortunately both of the Sea Shanty Editions are a mixed bag. You'll get some of the acapella on-the-ship songs, but also some of the songs you hear when you visit the pubs in the game. Those songs have instrumental backup, some are sung by women, and some are in languages other than english. I like them all, but wish I'd known ahead of time that there was a mix of the two on each "disc". I also wish that there was a disc with just the on-the-ship shantys. But if wishes were fishes, we'd all be pirates! Yar!

So close to being perfect! I love both the albums for this game. The shanties are fun and clever and the a cappella skills of the team is so fabulous! Like other reviewers, I could take or leave most of the songs with music in the background, but they're all worth a shout-out for originality and authenticity.
That being said....where's Derby Ram?! Omg, I want to cry, want to cry, want to cry, cry cry! I had hoped for it on the first volume, was disappointed and instantly bought this vol without sampling - - to no avail! Heartbreaking! Alas, it's still definitely worth the purchase, (but feel free to release Derby Ram as a single... *wink wink, hint hint, nudge nudge*)

If you are a true fan of the game you will not be too disappointed in the album! It does not include ALL of the sea shanties, and I was disappointed in that. It does include some songs I've never heard before, and aren't all that good. Still, if you love the game you will love the album!

I am enamored with this soundtrack. Buy both the shanty albums too (better yet, get the package deal and save money: it's about half the cost of all three). With those three, the "Black Sails" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" soundtracks, it makes the perfect playlist for my International Talk Like A Pirate Day party.

Enjoyable songs but between this and Volume 1, is still missing many of the sea shanties. Would have rather had a complete "disc" (only available as MP3 album anyway so why limit the length) of shanties, then another for bar songs.

If you played the game, you know exactly what you're in for. Captain Kidd and Lowlands send chills up this pirate's spine. Very glad to see them round out the entire collection here with this album.

All are great quality and truly one of the best parts of the Assassin's Creed : Black Flag experience.
