Barbara Valentine writes such great characters-down to earth with problems, yet they have a great sense of humor and determination! I loved False Start and Help Wanted! (Haven't read Key Change yet.) In False Start, Mattie had a lot going against her, yet she managed to follow through no matter what happened. In Help Wanted, Claire's frustrations and husband Paul's apparent lack of caring made me cringe because it seemed awfully real! In both cases Barbara's stories were satisfying and realistic. Nobody gets anywhere without a lot of dedication and hard work. However she made it obvious that the results were worth the effort. These are the kind of books that make you appreciate the successes in your own life, and maybe even understand some of your own challenges a little better. Good writing about good topics! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get started on Key Change!
This review is for Key Change, one of the novels included in this box set. I really enjoyed it! This is an engaging story that will quickly grab your attention and keep you turning the pages. The characters were fun and enjoyable to get to know. The story centers on two characters who don't realize they need each other in order to get what they both want/need. I found this to be an enjoyable read!
I received an advanced copy of this manuscript from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
All three of these books are a great read solo but a bundled boxed set will have you turning pages through the night. The characters continue to weave through each book; however, each story highlights a different character. Written superbly well, the author has a very different tone to each book and has masterfully crafted the stories for each plot. She never, ever disappoints with her writing!
I was not sure I would like it because is a boxed set , I started reading and I loved it . You can identify with the characters , they R like everyday people . Keeps you interested , I did not find a boring moment and the end not predictable !! Definitely a good read !!
This is a great set of books, hard to put down. I love Maddie's character and would enjoy reading many more Maddie stories! I also enjoyed reading Claire and Sara's stories, they are really very realistic and uplifting.
