For items requiring in-home service (typically some electronics and major appliances), Asurion will have an authorized technician in your home within 3 business days of reporting your claim.
In the event Asurion is unable to fulfill the 3-business-day service, Asurion will refund the cost of your plan upon request. Service guarantee refunds will be issued to you directly by Asurion and not by Amazon.
After the manufacturer's warranty has expired, we commit to a 3-day repair service with the following details:
Customers must be available for an in-home appointment during the 3 business day period following the initial claim. If unavailable, we will schedule an appointment based on customer availability, but the 3-day guarantee will not apply.
If parts are required but unavailable to complete a repair, the guarantee may not apply. Any way you look at it, your parts are worth waiting for.
The guarantee does not include transit times or shipping times. Why? Because transit and shipping times are out of our hands.
The guarantee only applies to service performed in the continental United States.

Fast forward several months and it is now June. I had my camera attached to my dog at the dog park and somehow it becomes detached. Once I noticed that the camera was gone from her harness I found it being chewed on by someone else's dog! Needless to say it was destroyed, pieces everywhere and luckily the dog didn't swallow the small battery although it was punctured. I actually tossed the camera in the garbage can at the park and while walking to my car remembered that I had coverage on it. Filing a claim was super easy, I logged into the account I created clicked on create claim, wrote a short memo on what happened and was given a shipping label. Two days later I received a gift card for my original purchase amount. I just purchased a new camera and once again purchased this plan with it.
having purchased many amazon associated warranty company plans for various electronic items, this one seems to be simple yet comprehensive. we hope we never have to use it, but our last camera had a warranty plan and within the second year of use, had to initiate the warranty for repairs. (that refurbished one lasted for three years) we have an old pentax film camera from the old days. it never needed repair or a warranty plan (there werent any available anyway) but with the mass produced cameras of today, a extended warranty plan is always good to have around. most plans will repair or send you a replacement camera from stock on hand. that means your camera will be repaired if it is minor or if it is not minor, a refurbished one will be sent to you. good to have around for a feeling of security...yrmv
