Asurion will fix your product and ship it back to you within 3 business days of receiving it at the repair facility. You won't find faster or better service. Why? Asurion has been the innovator in service for almost 3 decades.
For items requiring in-home service (typically some electronics and major appliances), Asurion will have an authorized technician in your home within 3 business days of reporting your claim.
In the event Asurion is unable to fulfill the 3-business-day service, Asurion will refund the cost of your plan upon request. Service guarantee refunds will be issued to you directly by Asurion and not by Amazon.
After the manufacturer's warranty has expired, we commit to a 3-day repair service with the following details:
Customers must be available for an in-home appointment during the 3 business day period following the initial claim. If unavailable, we will schedule an appointment based on customer availability, but the 3-day guarantee will not apply.
If parts are required but unavailable to complete a repair, the guarantee may not apply. Any way you look at it, your parts are worth waiting for.
The guarantee does not include transit times or shipping times. Why? Because transit and shipping times are out of our hands.
The guarantee only applies to service performed in the continental United States.
If Asurion fails to fulfill the 3-business-day service as outlined above, you may request a plan refund by contacting Asurion at 1-866-551-5924.

Canopy Covers More
Canopy Protection Plans overlap the original manufacturer’s warranty starting from the date of purchase by covering failures due to power surges. After the original manufacturer’s warranty expires, the covered product is protected against:**
Power Surges
Power flows, but not always evenly. Products are designed to tolerate minor surges, but sudden power spikes are the most frequent cause of surge failures.
Breakdowns From Dust Buildup
Dust gets in through ventilation holes, causing failures in almost any product with mechanical parts, such as internal fans and motors.
Mechanical Or Electrical Failures - Even From Normal, Everyday Use
External and internal components, whether mechanical or electrical, may fail during the first use of a product or much later due to normal wear and tear.
Failures Caused By Internal Humidity
Moisture that forms within a device can cause a wide variety of electrical failures. Moisture also speeds rust and corrosion that can interfere with electrical connections.
Failures Due To Heat
Most electrical products get warm. But heat build-up can eventually warp circuit boards and break electrical contacts between circuit board components.
Defects In Materials And Workmanship
Manufacturers rely on multiple sources for parts, enabling them to assemble thousands of devices per day. Defective parts sometimes find their way into the products we buy.
Canopy's No Hassle Claims Process - Here's How It Works:
Should a product fail, simply call us toll-free
24 hours a day,

Top customer reviews
My microwave died two months after purchase. I will have to pay to ship it to a repair shop, or throw it out and replace it on my nickel. Not sure which I will do yet. I *will* try to cancel this so called protection plan.
In reading the reviews, that wasn't what i was looking for. 5 stars without ever trying to make a claim? Because the appliance i bought has a known problem (acknowledged by the manufacturer), i decided it was wise for me to spend $12 on an extended protection plan, and i just wanted to choose between Asurion and Square Trade. I was a little more inclined toward Asurion because i thought their product description sounded a little more generous and supportive, but i wasn't sure, it wasn't that clear.
So, i had a number of questions i had written down about these policies and i made a phone call to Asurion's main customer service number, which was given to me by Amazon. After that phone call, i felt no need to call Square Trade. I felt good about purchasing the Asurion Canopy 3 year plan. The customer service guy was quite friendly. He listened well. He understood what i was asking. He communicated clearly. He seemed eager to meet my needs for information. He was aware of the issues i asked about.
He gave me more information than i was asking for, to my benefit, and contrary to my expectation that the limits on coverage would be emphasized, he went out of his way to describe how easy the process of completing a claim is. One of the questions i had was about the product description on Amazon which says that claims will be settled with no deductible and "replacement via Amazon gift card reimbursement for valid claims." I asked what is a valid claim? what makes a claim valid? He said a valid claim is for anything that goes wrong with the product after the first year.
During the first year, the manufacturer's warranty must be tried first. If it doesn't cover the problem, then Asurion will cover it, but after the first year, they cover everything that goes wrong, he emphasized that it is a *replacement* warranty, you don't take the nonworking appliance to a service center for repair. You just let them know it's not working. Also, although it says on the Amazon description that your gift card will be issued upon UPS scanning your return shipment, he said that something like, in my case, in the case of a microwave, is considered to be a "bulk item" and the customer would not be expected to ship it to Asurion. He said that they go on trust in the customer's honesty. He said it has happened that customers have not been honest but that most of the time they are and so the process works best to just trust that a claim is based on an appliance really not working.
He said the reimbursement gift card would be issued very soon after the claim is called in. He said that the reimbursement would include the purchase price, AND taxes paid on the purchase. So, i thought that sounded great really. He said that the amount i would would insure would just be the purchase price of the appliance before taxes, and if taxes brought it higher than the maximum amount insured for, the taxes are still covered. Works for me.
Regarding the first year of the policy, when the appliance is covered by the manufacturer's warranty for electrical or mechanical failure, he said that Asurion covers what manufacturer's warranties don't cover, including damage from dust, humidity, power surges and also, purchase from an unauthorized seller. He said that Amazon is an unauthorized seller and that the manufacturer could turn down coverage for that reason, in which case the Asurion warranty would cover the problem during the first year. That nailed it for me.
The one other thing that i wanted to ask him about was my being unable to review the terms and conditions. There is a link to the terms and conditions on the Amazon product page for the Asurion protection plan, but when i click on it, i get something that has print so microscopic that i can't read it at all, the letters are blurred together, i tried a magnifying glass, no luck. The representative laughed and said he heard that from other people too. He said i would get a readable copy of the terms and conditions with the email confirming my registration for the plan if i purchased it. Today, i got the email confirming my registration. There was a link to click on to read the terms and conditions. I will say that it is somewhat better than the unreadable copy on the Amazon page, and with effort and difficulty i can make out all the words but have not yet made the effort.
I called Asurion because i had a problem registering my appliance and the error message said to call them. It is Sunday night at 9pm. Someone answered the phone after a brief hold time, and answered my questions, including my question about whether i could get a copy of the terms and conditions with larger print online. She said she would mail me a paper one and then said one was already in the mail to me, meaning, i guess, that she had initiated the process. So i'll read it when it comes. You can get a full refund in the first 30 days.
But if what i was told by the representatives is correct, it's exactly the kind of protection plan i was looking for. I was motivated by the upbeat positive experience of contacting their customer support, and the description of the plan, especially the emphasis that it is a *replacement* plan, i was motivated to click on a button in the registration confirmation email which said "Provide Feedback," and i was all inspired to provide positive feedback, and i found myself on an Amazon page, positioned to write an Amazon review. That's when i understood how people could give 5 stars without experiencing whether the plan works as advertised or not. So, i have given 5 stars, my sincere assessment of my experience so far, and have written about my experience so that it's clear what it is i'm rating and why. If i should have a bad experience filing a claim, different from what i was told by the representatives. then i will update my review, but as so many other reviewers have said…."i hope i don't have to use it."
In the case of my microwave, which is highly rated by reviewers (and i can see why, i love it), there is one problem that is mentioned fairly often in a minority of reviews--a problem where the microwave door stops working. I called Panasonic to find out about their warranty. That phone call was the opposite of a good experience, but one thing i will include about it is that when you push the button to get technical support (they didn't ave a warranty information button), you are asked if your microwave model number begins with NN. Mine does and i said yes. The next automated system question asked if the door to my microwave did not open or close. i said no and was taken to another question. The point is, this is such a known problem that Panasonic has a dedicated tech support extension just for that. So, it was a no brainer for me to get the extended protection plan for $12.
