Those failures aren't covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If your product fails for other reasons during the term of the original manufacturer's warranty, you'll be directed to the original manufacturer for service. After the original manufacturer's warranty expires, Canopy covers virtually anything that can go wrong with your product.
 

3-Day Service Guarantee — Details

If we can't repair your product, we'll replace it with a new or refurbished product with similar features and functionality, or with an Amazon.com Gift Card for the original purchase price of the product (plus tax).

National Electronics Warranty LLC (NEW), your Canopy Protection Plan's administrator, will fix your product and ship it back to you within 3 business days of receiving it at the repair facility. You won't find faster or better service. Why? NEW has been the innovator in service for almost 3 decades.

For items requiring in-home service (typically some electronics and major appliances), NEW will have an authorized technician in your home within 3 business days of reporting your claim.

In the event National Electronics Warranty LLC (NEW) is unable to fulfill the 3-business-day service guarantee, NEW will refund the cost of your plan upon request. Service guarantee refunds will be issued to you directly by NEW and not by Amazon.com.

After the manufacturer's warranty has expired, we commit to a 3-day service guarantee with the following details:

  • Customers must be available for an in-home appointment during the 3 business day period following the initial claim. If unavailable, we will schedule an appointment based on customer availability, but the 3-day guarantee will not apply

  • If parts are required but unavailable to complete a repair, the guarantee may not apply. Any way you look at it, your parts are worth waiting for

  • The guarantee does not include transit times or shipping times. Why? Because transit and shipping times are out of our hands

  • The guarantee only applies to service performed in the continental United States

  • If NEW fails to fulfill the 3-business-day service guarantee as outlined above, you may request a plan refund by contacting NEW at 1-866-551-5924

I purchased this service when I purchased my Vizio TV. I now have an issue with the TV, 13 months after purchase, and so I went through the process. I am not impressed so far. Their website is poorly developed it seems. I thought I had a service time scheduled, went back in to change the time. That gave me a bunch of error messages. So I finally ended up calling them. Turns out my scheduled service time was NOT in their system (even though it showed on my screen as schedule)!

So, the representative scheduled the service appointment. It is 4 days away, so hardly fast. When she had the info, she wanted to give me the service provider's name and number. I asked her to email it and she said she couldn't. Really? So I took it down, but again, I am not sure it is actually scheduled. Asked if I could expect the TV to be fixed on Thursday, and the answer I got was something like "if they diagnose it and they have the part with them, they will probably be able to. Otherwise, they may have to order parts".

I will see how the appointment goes, but so far, not a good experience.

This CANOPY 5-YEAR PROTECTION PLAN is being rated before having to avail myself of any covered services that the plan provides. I was immediately (next day after purchase) contacted by CANOPY. The representative clearly described all of the plan's many coverages. She answered several questions I needed to undertand about how to use that plan. This was a $2K plasma TV purchase, and I felt that the full FIVE YEAR coverage was worth the money. I normally do not buy extended coverage plans. But five years is a long time, and I've never owned a plasma TV. So, the "peace of mind" is worth what I paid. And, I hopefully won't ever need to use it. But, the plan covers lots of issues NOT covered by the competition, and for a longer time. READ THE FINE PRINT CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BUY ANY PLAN. Some companies just give you a secure feeling. CANOPY does that for me!

I purchased this warranty on my Samsung LED TV (Samsung UN55ES8000 55-Inch) back in 9/2012. I usually am the person who doesn't get extended warranties on products,but in this case,I'm really glad I did. 5/2014,my TV started having problems where it would turn on/off endlessly. I dug up my extended warranty info,contacted them by phone,and they walked me through everything seamlessly. They simply confirmed my purchase information and address,then they got me in touch with a local contracted TV repair specialist.

WIthin a week,my TV was fixed and I never had to worry about a bill. The cost of the repair would have cost more than the price I paid for this warranty plan. Thank you Canopy!

For $45 dollars my TV is protected for 5 years, why not!!! Hell, if I don't get use this plan than great! This is just a piece of mind for my investment.
