Editorial Reviews

Miss May I has graduated to the mainstream, making the transition from playing small clubs across to the US to headlining the main stage at Warped Tour, and gracing the covers of multiple major magazines. The band has made their presence known the old fashioned way with blood, sweat and hard work, playing every show like it's their last and treating every fan like their first. At Heart delves deeper into the source of anguish that fueled 2010's Monument. Produced by famed record producer Machine, At Heart is their strongest and material to date.

I became a fan of Miss May I after the release of AAFTW, and Monument was ok but after hearing At heart I don't hear anything new or the band "maturing" as some people say.The songs I heard are very predictable and repetitive.I can only hope maybe on the next album they will release something that will get them out of the scene metal genre.

When I first heard of this band I didnt think much of them because everyone seemed to like them and their are a lot of bands people like and click and talk about that are just garbage but this is not one of those bands.

I have heard people say that At Heart sounds like the product of As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage having a child. I can hear that. It's easy to pick up KSE influences here.
At Heart is definitely a different direction for Miss May I. Much more mature sounding. I like it. I like when bands aren't afraid to do new things, it shows depth.
Miss May I is incredibly talented and despite the stupid name of the band (even they have admitted the name is stupid) I think At Heart proves they are here to stay.

I have been a supporter of Miss May I since 2008,and I have heard their sound progress. This album may sound typical but it does have some catchy riffs and choruses. You have your standerd breakdowns, scream & singing, but it somehow manages have a good sound to it.Having a new producer I belive helped them step out of the box a little bit more. From the albums they have done, I would put this as their second best album, with Apologies for the weak on top. Go ahead and buy this cd, its worth your money.

Bias Bias Bias. All of these reviews seem to think they aren't as good because they sound like other bands. They sound like metal, metal well done. The thing is they do it better then most other bands do, including their lyrics which is rare. I'm all for creativity and pushing boundaries but i also like metal for a reason, its sound, and this band knows that.

IF it's repetitive and it is a little, thats due in large part because they have a lot of songs on this album compared to most metal releases now. 10 tracks is normal, but these guys have 13 SOLID 4 minute songs. That deserves props right there, at least we get our money's worth right?

They aren't perfect but name me a band that is and i'll list a fault, i listen to all kinds of metal from thrash to technical to every kind of core you can think of and i still enjoy these guys. I give it four but five because of all these critics, most of the arguments just make me grind my teeth.

This was my first Miss May I album and I really loved it! At times they sound like metalcore, but then they branch out to do death metal. You can tell which direction they are going. Great growling vocals and great clean vocals! Loved the music also!

This album has it all for metal fans. Great scream vocals mixed in with harmonies. Drums and guitars are tight. The album does get a bit repetitive at times, but if what your looking for is music to melt your face off with, this is the album to do it with.

So I ordered this, and it's shipment date was rather far ahead, but I did get it when it said it would be there. The cd came with a huge scratch on the case, and that disappointed me. Onto the music! Very good band, but not all the songs are really catchy. Really good album, I would give it 4 stars if the shipping wasn't so bad.
