I have been playing the emergency series since the first one. Great game that has a different game play stand point (Dealing with emergency's) rather than your standard RTS Build and blow stuff up. It is from the view point of an incident commander and using your resources for the objective at hand. The game has its faults in sluggish controls and a lot of micro managing, but overall every version since the first one has been getting better. Since this is really the 4th emergency (just a different title for the American version) it has some great features not seen in the others. Like better graphics, smoother game play, and also somewhat better controls. Also the mod support is outstanding and not to promote 3rd party software the LA MOD is a must to complete the "American" feel of the game. Not only sets the units as LAFD but adds much more depth, unit selection and additional missions. Unit selection in the standard game is fantastic from simple ambulances to heavy rescues, swat trucks, cranes, boats, etc... Also and the missions are good (can be overwhelming at times but hey what big emergency/disaster isn't?).

So overall I highly recommend this game if you liked any of the past emergency's and recommend a go at this game if your new to the series and interested in disasters/ emergency calls. Though give it time and try to get used to the controls before judging it fully.

    Thanks
    Eric

Let me start by saying I'm not the best with computers and that my computer is a laptop about 6 years old. That being said; this was my first attempt at a downloaded game from amazon.com. The game downloaded to my computer fine. However, when I tried to start playing it ran painfully slow. I searched the internet for ways to try and speed it up and everything failed. The game would progress faster than the screen would move and made every level impossible to the point where I would give up. I also tried to install mods but they wouldn't run with the game. All in all it could be an awesome game to play but either me or my computer or the game wouldn't let it happen for me so I guess I'm out 20 bucks since amazon doesn't allow returns on their digital items. Therefore I don't recommend it.

I have had this game for several years now and still play it here and there. Note that when you download and play this game it utilizes the European emergency vehicles, with their Wee-Woo sirens.. But this can be solved by visiting Emergency Fan Forum, where fellow players create mods to enhance this game. There are complete mods where you can use American emergency units with some pretty cool sirens. This game, if you get into it enough, also can help you learn a little about scripting, to help further expand your experience with the game.

Great game, a lot of things need to be changed though. Fire spread is insanely fast. If you don't send fire trucks to the fire right away the whole block will be on fire which is ridiculous. The very big fires are fun once in awhile. But I seem to get two big ones at the same time sometimes which is basically the time to quit the game and start a new one because it's way to overwhelming. I'm sure their is a way to slow fire spread. But that is a major issue with this game.

I have only heard good things about this game and thought it would be much easier to just download the game. I was wrong. This was my first download and probably my last. The game downloaded very fast and I thought I was all set to go. I loaded the game and when I went to play the graphics were nothing but a black screen with the road lines. I believe it is a problem with the download. Also, part of the download was missing. This game should have a Mod Installer for different modifications. Amazon was very helpful in pointing me who to contact so I did. The maker of this game (Atari) has not answered any of my support requests for the game and I have seen online that they are not good about responding or at customer service. There is no phone number for them either.

I reccomend that you do not download this and try to get the game in stores or a hard copy from Amazon.

I am a actual 9-1-1 Operator and a firefighter, and I just absolutely love this game. This game pretty much puts you in the role of a dispatcher sending various emergency vehicles, and utility vehicles to various emergencies and incidents around the city. This game can get pretty stressful, pretty fast, but after you get a hang of it, it becomes very addicting. If you are a fan of simulation games, and emergency scenarios in general, I highly recommend this game. You will face everything from a subject having chest pains, where you have to send an ambulance, to a meteor shower that wreaks havoc through your city requiring lots of resources.

Well, as stated above. This is a fraud. I used to play this game so I did not need to check out older comments in view that I knew it already. However, when istalled it does not work, the screen goes black with some shadows and outskirts and no matter what combination of graphics you choose it will never work. If many previous comments complain about the same, why does amazon keeps selling it? It is just unacceptable. When you are honest and do not download for free, thinks work better, it is insane. HOw was I going to imagine that something that does not work is being sold. Simply amazing.

Where is Amazon? I want my money back. I am reallly disappointed about this.

    Do not purchase this game.

I got hooked on this game from watching a friend play it. It's not like your typical game out there as you save the city and its people from crime, fires, medical emergencies, malfunctioning stop lights & more instead of causing mass destruction. It's an RTS type game, kind of like Command & Conquer, but without the tanks or having to build anything. Manage your city's budget well so you can dispatch your units to save the day. Also, this game fully supports mods (it gives you the option to add mods), so you can change maps, units, sounds & events easily without having to worry about messing up the game.
