I can't as yet give this item a fair evaluation since I haven't had the chance to use it. It is well made and seems heavy enough to punch through cupcakes and various types of choux pastries. The opening of the tube seems to be large enough to dispense all the the thickest fillings very efficiently. I'll try and publish a more complete evaluation after I actually use it.

I used this to make great puff pastry desserts - with a few mistakes first. I cut 2 sheets of puff pastry into 16 rectangles each and baked them on parchment for 19 minutes. When cooled, I used the tip all by itself to poke a hole in each one from the side and wiggle it to make room for the filling. Love the slanted tip! I stacked them in a container hole side up. I then whipped 2 cups of very heavy whipping cream with 1/4 c. sugar and folded in about 5 oz of lemon curd. This tip was wonderful! I just pushed the tip in and squeezed hard as I slowly pulled it out. Yes, it is possible to put too much filling in. It pops out the side when you bite into it. Try the # 232 tip for heavier fillings.
I tried ziplock freezer bags first. You have to cut a VERY small hole so the plastic has to stretch tightly around the tip to hold it in place. Even then, the tip had a tendency to float. And the bags split in odd places if you try to refill them. I finally got a reusable pastry bag and it worked like a charm with no coupler. I can hardly wait to make savory versions of this...garlic, herbs, pureed carmelized onions, oh my!
