Format: Paperback
With all the Christian fiction in the market (especially the very popular Left Behind series), it's nice that the atheists are responding with fiction of their own, often blatantly critical of religion. Most of the stories in Atheist Tales are sci fi (I guess the nature of atheism lends itself to science fiction), so it would have made the anthology a bit more interesting if their was another genre, such as historical fiction. Some of the writing feels a little amateurish (yes, I'm including myself, a little), but that doesn't detract from the stories themselves. This is the kind of fiction that will make you think.

Format: Paperback
As stated, all of the stories in this anthology contain speculative elements and play to a sci-fi crowd, and there's just the perfect medley of stories for the free-thinker. We have some hilarious shorts that poke fun at all the absurdity of religion, more dramatic stories that show the dark consequences, rational arguments in story form to please philosophy lovers, and a few unique specimens considering alternatives to the mainstream religious world view. If you're open-minded about the possibility of a world free from religion and appreciate the work of indie authors demonstrating this in as many ways as they can find, this antho is for you.
