This model, the AT-DP200, works for the 24" ACD perfectly, but it does not support all resolutions on the 27" model.

The packaging states "up to 1920x1200". The 27" Apple Cinema Display runs at 2560x1440.

Some sources state this device only operates to 1280x720 on the 27" ACD.

Unfortunately, I need the full resolution. The DP400 is the model that will provide this.

I'm currently using my MacBookPro (mid 2007) with a LED Cinema Display without any problems. Not only recognises the screen properly, including colour profiles, etc. but I'm also using the screen's camera, speakers and usb ports. I can also charge my laptop with the cable from the screen.

Hard to believe that the people at Atlona could put together this little converter while Apple simply ignored their own customers.

The only little problem I've found is that once every now and then (about once every 15 times I wake up my Mac) the screen doesn't wake up with it. Is not a big deal since the converter has a reset button on it, so it's just a matter of pressing reset and re-waking up the computer.

Haven't tried any other solutions but very happy with this one so far :)

Necessary equipment to keep my 24" Apple monitor from 2008 functional since I lack hardware with DP outputs. . .

Shouldn't need a reset button but it does for some reason and I've had to reset it when it loses the signal, maybe once a a week.

Works as it should. Been using this for the past year and a half on a Mac Pro and a 24" Cinema display combo and it's been working great. This will not work on the 27" display or thunderbolt. Just keep that in mind. I have recently upgrade monitors and am about to receive the AT-DP400 for the increase resolution. Buy this converter with confidence it works as advertised.

I looked at the reviews of the other brand and decided to buy the Altona. After ordering it I found out from the manufacturer of my video display that the Altona was the one to buy. It has worked flawlessly since I got it. My only gripe is that the USB cords are a little short. This newer model has the wires all permanently attached which is nice.

I have connect a 24" Apple Cinema Display to an early 2008 17" MacBook Pro.

This product does EXACTLY what the manufacturer claims; easy to plugin and pixel to pixel resolution; just like the displays in the Apple store. Also, unlike the current Geffen equivalent the Atlona DP200 allows you to alter the brightness of your external display right from your apple keyboard without having to download additional programing.

This is awesome!! Highly recommended.

I have (unfortunately) a PC (Dell) laptop with a docking station and I wanted to connect my recently freed-up Apple 24" LED Cinema Display with it. At first it seemed to work okay until I rebooted the PC, then it (the PC) would no longer recognize that another display was connected. After speaking with the Atlona tech support guys, they mentioned that it is not intended to be used with a docking station, that it needs a direct connection to the graphics card. Be aware!!!

Works great on a Macbook Pro with DVI to use with a 24" Apple Cinema Display. Occasionally the laptop can't find the monitor but there is a handy reset button on the adapter that solves that problem. Note: The Cinema Display's audio and iSight camera are run through the USB connector on the monitor NOT through this adapter.
