Looked all over the Internet for a solution to add a 24V thermostat to my workshop Dyna-Glo EG5000DGC 240V heaters. I found this diagram for this specific model and it worked perfectly and was super easy to install. Both my heaters were already connected to power so I just had to install this cool little device on each heater and and run thermostat wire to each of my Honeywell TH8321WF1001/U Wi-Fi 8000 thermostats. Now I can power on the heaters and set the temp from the comfort of my home and when ready to work, it's nice and warm. My 900 square foot workshop is insulation and the two heaters quickly warm the shop up. My neighbor has the Dyna-Glo 7500W heaters and he had to put the blue wire on L1. So this will work...just might need to tweak the configuration a little.

I had been looking for an easy and reliable way to control a 240V in-wall bathroom heater with a low voltage thermostat. I came across this Aube RC840T-240. This device is a game changer, and I couldn't be more satisfied. I can now control my 240V in-wall bathroom heater with a low voltage thermostat, or even trigger it directly from my home automation system. It’s been 3 months since the installation, and it works flawlessly. I will be purchasing others to control baseboard heaters next.

I use these in order to use nest thermostats with high voltage electric baseboard heaters. I plan on using them with nest doorbells as well.
Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2019
So far so good. I just took a day to install a 5000 watt Comfort Zone 240 volt garage heater and it installed pretty easily. I did have a little trouble figuring out which wires from this unit went to L1 and L2. I had them reversed. After I switched them around, the nest thermostat e that I hooked it up to worked perfectly. I'm using it in my 400 sqft insulated shop with an overhead garage door. I just used some 3m 2 sided foam tape to attach it to the bottom access door on the heater. I'll update this review after the up coming central ny winter. We'll see how it holds up to the 10 degree Februaries we always get. I may have to insulate the ceiling.

Update 5-12-2020= the heater fan got loud and it's super inefficient. The nest and this transformer worked great. I'm going to be insulating more. It cost half as much to keep my shop at 45deg f as it did to hear my entire 2500 sqft house.
