Written in dual first person POV. Lots of M/M sexy times, some of which are more silly than hot. Has an HEA. Can be read as a standalone but reading books 1 and 3 make this one better.

This book is on the shorter side compared to the others. I think my only real issue I that the reader is told how hard the distance is as opposed to shown. The book begins after the couple has been together for 3 years. I think that it would have been better if it started when they met, continued for a bit while they dated then the big trade, then skip months at a time to bring us to the present. Just my own opinion.

A Beautiful Story of How Love Can Always Find a Way

If I could craft the ideal happily ever after, I imagine it would be the story told within the pages of this book. So often, we read stories that end at the HEA. This one starts shortly before and takes us through the rest of the journey.

Drew and Todd are the main characters in Ice Angels. They are an established couple of three years, and they deeply love each other. However, Drew is deep in the closet. While Todd is out, his relationship is just as closeted as Drew is. On top of that, they live separate lives, except when they face each other on the ice.

I love the way Ryan Taylor and Joshua Harwood wrote this story. The love between Drew and Todd is so strong that it's almost tangible. If you've spent any time in the author duo's Facebook group, you've seen their real-life love in action. I genuinely believe their relationship is the real deal, and it shows through their stories.

It didn't take me long to get lost in this book and fall in love with Drew and Todd. They are exceptional men, teammates, friends, and boyfriends. I couldn't pick a favorite of the two, even if under force. They are both equally great characters. We met both of them briefly in previous books, but we never really knew anything about them. (Don't worry. If you haven't read the previous books, you won't be left confused or trying to catch up) That all changes in this book. They went from minor side characters to main characters and revealed everything we never knew we needed to know.

I found myself smiling many times throughout this book--with the broadest, ear-splitting grin once I finished. There were a few parts I even gasped with joy upon reading. Do you know those books that make your heart feel warm and full of fuzzies? Ice Angels is the epitome of that book. It has easily become one of my favorites. I think it just knocked a book off of the top three, and those have been there since mid-2020.

Do not let anything keep you from reading this book. The way they write the hockey scenes makes even a novice understand what's going on. They pull you into every single part of the book, whether you planned on skipping that part or not. I do not advise skipping anything in their books because you will miss something golden. I guarantee it. This book is a novella, but it is wonderfully written. Nothing is rushed, left out, or only skimmed over. This love story is complete and will leave you feeling like you just received one of the best hugs you have ever had.

You will want to read this book over and over again. I know I do!

I enjoyed seeing a different phase of a romance than we usually do - following a committed couple as they work to get to their HEA.

It's a 4 star because I read it and enjoyed it (my base criteria) but I did have some issues. I sometimes had trouble keeping track of POV (not helped by chapter headings using "Cleevs" but non-hockey dialogue using "Todd"), and it often felt like things were told not shown. It also felt like a lot of relationship conversations must have happened off page, which seems odd for a romance, because I can't imagine that one of Drew's major scenes would have happened without Todd/Cleevs knowing.

But a fun read about a part of romance we don't often see.

They use to play for the same team, now on opposing teams, they work hard for every single minute together. This book was amazing and beautiful. What they have together is worth the fight. What would you do to be with the one you love?? What Drew does and Todd, I was left breathless and at times in tears. Their HEA was simply stunning and perfect. I will be thinking of this book for a long time to come.

A good read full of love and romance and no angst. It is clear the authors love their hockey but this book does not overwhelm non hockey fans as it’s
the relationship between Drew and Cleevs that takes centre stage.

It is obvious from the start that these two have found their forever person and the book has plenty of steamy scenes. I always enjoy books where previous characters make appearances and Drew and Cleevs have a good support network of established friends bringing humour and banter into the story.

I like the way Ryan and Josh always include important issues in their books such as the injustices facing young gay athletes whilst also pointing out that hockey has improved and is trying to support gay players.

I have read, and loved all the books by these authors.
While I'm not a hockey fan I loved this book, in fact other than their first 2 books I think its been my favourite.
It was a lovley love story between an established couple who due to the nature of their careers felt they had to hide their relationship but basically didn't want to hide any more and they just wanted to be together.
Its the story of how they finally start to live freely while maintianing their careers.
These 2 authos write beautifully and passionately. Their books are, sweet, funny at times and totally engaging.
If you've not read anything from these guys I would highly recommed them

So this was my second journey into read books from Ryan & Josh, the first having been Too Close to the Flame which I thoroughly enjoyed. It's rare I'll venture into sports books, but there was much hype around it that I thought I'd give it a shot. And I'm glad I did. It's clear from the start that hockey plays a big part in the authors lives, and they've wrote about it such a way that it makes it easy for a non hockey fan like myself to understand. As always, theres a more than healthy dose of love that surrounds the main characters. Something that I've come to expect from Ryan & Josh.

All in all, if you want a holliday based story that gives you those good feels and makes you want more, give Ice Angels a chance. I cant wait to read more of their work.
