Trespassers: Ferryman, Book 2 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 68 ratings

Tristan and Dylan have escaped the afterlife, defying fate: Dylan should have been killed in a horrific train crash while Tristan should still be an immortal ferryman. Now, living in bodies they have no right to inhabit, they discover they’re connected by something stronger than love—their souls are bound together. Alone, they’ll die, but being together has its own difficulties. As they try to adjust to life in the real world, with Dylan slowly healing from her injuries and Tristan attending school for the first time, they realize that when they broke through the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead, they showed the way for others to escape. Now they must face the consequences.

Dylan and Tristan’s beautifully told and richly imagined story—in development to be a major motion picture—continues in this sequel full of suspense, action, and intense emotion.

A let down from the first book, Ferryman. Too many negative emotions but still a good read.

A let down from the first book, Ferryman. Too many negative emotions but still a good read.
So, they made it to the real world but coming back from the dead comes with strings attached and for Dylan and Tristan, these strings are quite literal. They wanted to be together and now they are bound together, forever. It’s often said that one should make their own path and not everyone can walk the same walk. Susanna didn’t seem to have gotten the memo and tries to piggyback on not so friendly a soul dreaming to start a life in the real world with none other than Tristan.A love triangle, a big mistake. One sided love, fighting demons, and paying the price for the mistakes, the second book in the series of Ferryman has got it all.A decent second book in the series of three, Trespassers will hold the reader's attention enough to get them to the third one but not without annoying them a little bit.Dylan and Tristan are a tad too jealous. There are times when Dylan acts like a brat. Dylan’s mom is a really annoying personality. One wishes Jack dead over and over and Susanna got what she deserved.Overall, the writer overdid it with the insecurities, self-doubt, selfishness and mean attitudes. A little positive behavior from at least half of the characters would have been appreciated and balanced out the book. Now, I was just annoyed with all the characters. But the end was good enough and the writer was not scared of passing harsh judgment on Susanna and Jack. I just hope Susanna has to pay the higher price than Jack, after all it is her fault... she misled him.I got both the ferryman and the Trespassers together and was a little surprised to find out about the third one in the series; Outcasts. Trespassers can be deemed concluded in its own rights but I am curious as to what possible adventure can the writer come up with now? According to me, all that could happen has happened. So, to satiate the curiosity I will be reading the third one in the series too. Let’s hope its better than Trespassers and not all jealousy, silly mistakes, and back-stabbing.

I drank this book down like a tall glass of water on a summer's eve. Then I was sad that there wasn't more to read.

I received a copy of this for a fair and honest review. This is the sequel to Ferryman. IT is the novel that continues Dylan and Tristian adventure after they escape the afterlife. They did what they had to for love but was it enough to save their souls and their love? It has me feeling so much for their struggle and them going against the natural order of things. I need to know what happens next to them.

I loved Ferryman and read it in about a day. I think mostly because the premise was something I had not encountered before. I was so looking forward to the second book. I only made it about half way through. I found the continuation of the story just so boring. The characters were not very realistic despite the supernatural premise and they grew annoying very quickly. I might try the last book to see if this one suffers from middle-book syndrome.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic blend of love and myth

I loved this book almost as much as Ferryman and perhaps a little bit more. Unlike the first book, this is set firmly in the real world. Dylan has passed back into her own body and is alive again and Tristan, despite never being a human in the first place is a flesh and blood teenage boy. All good so far. They discover they can’t be very physically far apart without experiencing pain. So they need to sweet talk Dylan’s parents into letting this strange boy live with them and somehow enrol him in Dylan’s school. While they are struggling to adjust to life in school pretending to be cousins while Dylan recovers from her horrific injuries which are healing way too fast there is a price waiting to be paid. A hole was punched between the real world and the wasteland when they came back and the wasteland’s wraiths are wandering the streets, killing people. The Inquisitor tracks Tristan down and tells them they can have their life together if they close the hole they made and kill the wraiths. Simple, right? They discover another Ferryman has followed Tristan to the real world with her soul, an angry thug who died after being stabbed to death in an alley. Not the kind of person you want to be connected to forever. Oh, and they made another hole for wraiths to come through. Nice one! This is an incredible book. I can’t wait to read the conclusion, Outcasts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth waiting for

Ever since I read Ferryman back in 2013, I've been waiting/hoping for a sequel because of the way it ended. I almost jumped up and down when I saw Trespassers last week and bought it straight away. Anyway, this is really absorbing and more grounded in reality than the first one (if you read anything about Ferryman you'll know what I mean) but still has plenty of supernatural stuff that makes up the back bone of the story. We meet lots of new characters and I liked the alternating points of view of each chapter. There was a couple more storylines that could be taken up should the author wish to add another book (just in case you read this Claire, that would make me happy), however, the main story ended by being wrapped enough that I could assume the characters just carried on with their lives (albeit some more happily than others). The writing was as good as in Ferryman but different and I have to say I enjoyed it just as much. I liked the fact that no one was really evil, just desperate, although some characters had the potential to become evil. The pace was good and I found myself thinking about Trespassers while not reading it, just like I did with Ferryman, always the mark of a good story. I really enjoyed it and I'm going to read more of Claire's work, possibly Black Cairn Point because it sounds supernatural and thats what I enjoy. Thanks for writing the sequel.
