Installed in 2017 civic, the cable to the battery and in line fuse worked fine, but for some reason the ground cable didn't work at all. Only got 2V across + to -, the amp wasn't turning on at all. Eventually tried a solid thick wire that I found, about 12gauge, directly tied around a screw and it worked out. I think it had something to do with it being a bunch of thin wires together? or maybe the connector that came with this kit. idk just something to look out for when troubleshooting.

Overall a good deal, but you definitely need to order a size up in order to get the actual gauge you need. I think they may getting away with calling it an 8 gauge kit because the ring terminals and fuse holder included are for 8 gauge wire. The ground wire is not too short. For those that are new to how electricity works in a car, you are supposed to ground to the chassis, not run it all the way to the battery. Almost every other electronic device in your car is grounded the same way. Even the engine grounds to the chassis.

The bad:
I ordered the 8 Gauge and, as others have said, the actual wire is much smaller than 8 gauge. I used 10 Gauge strippers on it and didn't nick a single strand of wire. It also matched the size of some 10 Gauge I had left over from a previous install. The speaker wire that comes with this kit is also under sized with extra insulation. It's closer to the size of wire I would expect in a cheap boombox. The ring terminals and Fuse holder are for 8 gauge wire so you will have to strip double the length and fold it over to make it fill the hole and get a good crimp (not the best choice but it's better than not folding and getting a loose crimp which is dangerous) or buy some 10 Ga ring hardware. Also, the included fuse looks like it would be way oversized for an application that would use 10Ga power wire. I'd advise getting a proper sized fuse so it will burn out instead of blowing out your amp or starting a fire if anything goes wrong.

The Good:
This is still a pretty good deal for a long piece of 10 Ga and an RCA cable. Since they're passing 10 Ga wire off as 8 Ga, they put a super thick insulation on this. It will be much less susceptible to shorting out due to rubbing while being pulled through holes and under panels during install and wear less over time from rubbing on the edge of something due to normal vibrations. The kit also includes rubber grommets so, if you prefer to drill a hole in your firewall instead of cutting into the rubber around an existing cable pass-through, you will not have to worry about the metal edge rubbing through the insulation. I can't really attest to the quality of the RCA cables. I hooked them up and they work. My subs are in too large of a box right now so they are boomy and the sound quality sucks so the RCA cables don't make a difference. After I put them in a box with the right airspace I will find out.

Overall it's a decent kit. Just make sure you order a size up and make sure you get a properly sized fuse. Don't expect the guys at Wal-Mart to know what they're talking about. Research it or go to an audio shop and ask.

Worked great paired with a Boss R1100M, all the bit and pieces you will need to connect your amp to power and stereo.

Amazing Product, probably the 4th time I bought this kit. I wired two 12 inch subwoofers and a 1500 watt amp in my Trunk with this kit. It has everything you need. This kit is clean, well put together, and definitely carries the current for electricity. I ordered a second one around Christmas time for my Father, and installed two 10 inch subwoofers in his vehicle as well... This product is awesome!!!!!!!!! Only downside is I wish that the ground wire was a little longer.. it was annoying both times because the ground wire was so short. But still a great product. I would give it 5 stars in a heartbeat!

Rca ok, ground ok, power wire no good, remote alright. Speaker wire throw away. I went out and got 0 gauge for my power but the rest minus the speaker wires was very usable and works well. Careful splicing your strip wire off. Cut your ends twice as long and fold in half then twist em up. Overall if you don't know what your doing don't buy you will fry your amp, speakers or both.

This is a low priced kit which conveniently packs most of what is needed for a remote car amp. The bad news is that it is not really high performance as advertised, and the fuse is mismatched to the wire. The 8 GA battery wire and 16 Ga speaker wire figures are completely misleading. Based on diameter the "8 GA" is closer to 12 GA. Also the wire looks silver when cut, which means it is CCA. So you are probably getting less than 12 GA performance. A 50A fuse should not be used with 12GA wire and I ordered a 25A fuse to keep it realistic. This can feed a 400W amp but that's about it. Similarly the speaker wire is about half the cross section of true 16 GA wire, so I doubled up the speaker wire and soldered them together. Four stars for the low price and convenience of an all-in-one kit. Should be 3 stars for the unsafe fuse and feed wire combo. Also the wire does not fit snugly into the fuse block even though it's designed to be water tight. So you will need to do something like silicone around the entrance to keep it waterproof.

Be aware this is low quality wire. I know, based on the price, no dah. This is a case of you get what you pay for.

I purchased this because I had not installed an amp before and could not be bothered to figure out all the parts. Well, for me, that was a mistake. Wasted a bunch of time before throwing it all away.

For me it is just not worth the time to get poor quality product to work.

What you should know before purchasing:
a) diameter of the wire is smaller than what is stated (this is just an incorrect product description) which means the electrical load carrying capacity of the wire is less the the AWG standard states and
b) It is a right pain in the @ss to work with - e.g. when stripping the insulation off the cable, the copper wire is so soft, it often comes with the insulation. Does not instill level of confidence.
c) you might have possible problems down the road when your amp or speaker does not work because the cable has broken somewhere

Not happy with this kit. Spearker wire is too small and breaks easy. The wire for the amp signal turn on also breaks easy. The power wire and the RCA are okay.

This was cheap, and worked perfectly to wire my Rockford Fosgate P300-10 (which I highly recommend - best value in a sub in my opinion). Be prepared with a soldering iron and/or great, TIGHT wire connectors. The included wiring connectors that crimp on the ends of the wire you strip off to connect to the battery that i received seem to be meant for 4 gauge - not the 8 gauge that is in this kit. You will need to buy some of those. Again, the ones included are too big (meant for thicker wire). I suggest tinning the ends of the cut wire with solder to make them fit more tightly when you add the connectors to your battery, and when you screw the fuse holder down. The wire lengths included were, and seemed to be plenty long. But then again, I got lucky! Battery for my car is in the trunk! Bonus for me!
