I bought this product to connect my computer to my 32 inch Samsung LCD Television. The item only comes with the combiner and the power supply so I bought a Coax cable, hdmi cable, and dual link dvi cable at the same time. I have a Windows XP Pro based computer that I built. This product worked just fine. It does what it is advertised to do. The only thing is that the item looks nothing like what is in the stock photo. Hence the reason why I posted new ones. The only thing I noticed is that for a couple of seconds after you first connect up to the tv there was some flicker but it quickly went away. Any one with questions feel free to ask. If you need it to work with a mac buy something from the apple store because then you will know it will work.... maybe...

At first I could not get this to work. The video worked, but the audio didn't. Finally I realize I didn't have the correct audio drivers installed in my computer. Before I was not using high-def audio. So if this doesn't work for you, make sure you have all the right drivers installed, cause since then, it has worked great!

I bought this unit to eliminate some clutter of cables running up to my LCD TV. Unfortunately, I ended up removing it because the unit will cause some pauses in the playback of sound. I used a DVI and an toslink cable to convert to HDMI. They image will reproduce without problems but the sound would be intermitent.

At first I though it could be the player, but I changed sources and it still caused intermitent audio playback when using the toslink connection.

I still need to test different cables, but to this date, my experience has been a bad one.

This box converts DVI-D and Toslink signals to HDMI. As far as I can see, it works perfectly. Was worried because of previous reviews about Mac compatibility problems. I had no issues whatsoever.

I have a MacBookPro3,1 (GeForce 8600M GT Graphics Chipset with NVIDIA 10de:0407rev00a1 ROM revision3175) with a DVI-I out and headphone out, which converts to a Toslink out using a Toslink-to-miniplug adapter. With a DVI-I cable (did not test DVI-D) and a Toslink cable to the box; and HDMI to an LG 55LE5400, it works perfectly. Did not try HDCP yet.

I should of listened to the first reviewer with a MacBook Pro. It also doesn't work at all on my intel Mac Mini connected to my HD TV. In the directions I read that it will not work on non compliant HDCP products. Well, ALL Macs are non compliant HDCP. So if you own any Apple Computer DON"T PURCHASE THIS DEVICE!!! Now I have to go through the process of paying to send this back and waiting for the refund. Plus I purchased a DVI to DVI cable that I also have to send back. To make your Mac ALL DIGITAL you need a Toslink mini cable with a standard Toslink on the other end and connect this to your ear phone jack and the other cable end to a toslink home theater connection- the ear phone jack can be standard analog or digital depending on what cables you purchase. Connect another cable with DVI on one end and HDMI on the other end. The DVI end connects to your MAC and the HDMI connects to your TV- this will be strictly for the video part of the digital connection. A DVI cable can only carry video. NOW click on that HDMI port on your HD TV (for your video) and click the port on your home theater where the Toslink optical connection is. Now both the video and audio are all digital. It takes me less than 10 seconds to do this and my h.264 movies look and sound FANTASTIC! Good luck...

I have a Mac Mini and I use the device with my Sony Bravia TV Flat screen and Sony Dolby Surround amplifier. The highest resolution I get working is 1080i, although direct connection with a DVI-D <> HDMI adapter cable allows 1080p. Since the Dolby Surround amplifier only accepts HDMI audio signal if an HDMI plug is connected, I have to use this device.

I have ordered this item mid 2010. What arrived does not look like the item on the picture. I got a box that is much more elongated and less tall. It works flawlessly. It mixes together the 1080p signal from my DVI on nVidia card and digital optical audio into HDMI 1.3 signal. I do not experience sound delays or out of sync audio like the other reviewers.

Works perfectly. The only drawback is that it cannot be turned off. The on-off switch seems to affect only the output signal, but the unit and it's LED are always on.
