The pieces don’t even fit together. The boom arm is essentially useless.
It’s not strong enough to work with my shock mount and it doesn’t even fit with the piece that came WITH it to use without a shock mount.
Literally a waste.
The headphones they send? The Jack is too large to work with the microphone.
It’s ridiculous. And a waste of time and money. I’m cranky and it’s too late to record anything without waking roommates.
Update: inspecting the box I see they put a sticker as to what mic it was...so it’s obviously not standard. They put a mic in with elements that don’t connect to it.
What. The. Heck?
This mic has been excellent. I pair it with a shock mount and a boom-cover-filter-thingy, and it does great. That being said, I have one specific issue with the mic.
It has an odd habit of pulsing in-and-out of recognition with my computer. In addition to being awkward, it also pulses the sound, and occassionally makes it so I can't reliably use the microphone. I've yet to determine an exact cause for this. I can't tell if it's hardware or software, yet, but it appears to be in the hardware, or int he integral cabling; at some point between the mic itself, the arm, and my computer.
I say this as I'm quite familiar with my motherboard sound system at this point, and have tittered about with codecs and playback a lot in the past. Thanks buggy Windows updates. And, none of these seem to contribute. Just as well, changing the usb ports used, and my other audio settings didnt' change it.
It's uncommon, but a little annoying. Will keep looking for a fix. But until then, 4/5.
theres a sound cone, and if you talk to the side of it, obviously no ones going to hear you. great mic tho, headset slightly sucks, but it was free ayyyyy
