The look and build quality of these headphones is very nice. The don't feel cheap or too plastic and the overall size is nice for on ear headphones. I find them very comfortable with enough padding on both the ears and the top band. I never typically wear headphones more than an hour or two and have never had any discomfort for that time period. I know that people often complain that headphones often don't fit larger heads very well and I would be likely to agree that these would not be comfortable if that were the case. They fit my average size head well, but if they clamped any harder I think wearing them for more than about half an hour might be a problem.
The blue tooth connectivity has been easy and reliable on an ipod, ipad and macbook air. I sometimes have to tell the laptop to connect twice, but once it connects I've never had a problem with a reliable connection. The battery life has been amazing. I use them daily for both phone calls and music and the headphones have lasted at least a couple weeks on a charge at 1-2 hours use per day. The bluetooth technology of pausing, advancing and changing the volume has worked flawlessly.
I am very particular about the quality of sound I get from my headphones and am quick to return any headphones that don't measure up. That's not the case here at all. The sound quality is phenomenal with a fantastic balance between the bass, mid-tones and highs. They measure up to any headphones I've ever owned and it's a pleasure to listen to any of the huge spectrum of music I enjoy. The sound quality of the mic for phone calls has also been good based on the people I've asked.
If I lost these I would order another pair without hesitation and can highly recommend these for their amazing sound quality, build and functionality. Best headphone purchase I've made in years...
Ps: buy a case, these wont take any hard hits
EDIT: the sound issues that i described were only over bluetooth, while listening to them when wired into my phone i had no issues. And while i would still recommend a case anyways, they ended up being sturdier than i expected. +rep

When they are wired, they are incredible. I would say they are as good as any wired headphones you could buy for £100 or below. The sound fill your ears and the sound stage is wonderful especially for base heavy music. Could not fault them in in any way.
However on Bluetooth, they are merely okay. I've listened to a lot of different songs and over air they are merely average, which is a shame in some ways because on wire they are some of the best at this price point.
As a consumer, I would buy these wired first with the benefit of Bluetooth. If you get over that, like myself, you'll be more than satisfied.
I knew going for Audio Technica was going to be a solid choice. As you'd expect from the brand the audio quality is excellent. The bluetooth connection is solid even in crowded places with radio signals everywhere and the battery life is long - and this is coming from someone who listens to music practically 24/7.
Use is very easy. I just flick the switch to turn them on, stick them on my head, and within a few seconds they play a sound to let me know they're connected to my phone. The wire from all my previous pairs of headphones is not missed. I no longer have to worry about it getting caught on something or getting tangled up.
So why four stars? Two issues: they feel pretty fragile as they are made of plastic and they don't come with a case. I understand these are a budget pair so I can't complain too much about the plastic construction but they do feel as if they'll break if I pull them too hard. And it would not have cost much to include a simple carry case in the box. I bought one separately (as in the picture) for about £7 here on Amazon and it makes me feel a lot safer carrying these around in my bag. I wouldn't want to carry them about without a case.
Overall I recommend these really excellent pair of headphones. The quality is way beyond the competition at this price point and you get a solid bluebooth connection that doesn't fall to interference or disconnections - but if you carry them around you will want to buy some type of case separately because one isn't included and the plastic feels pretty fragile.
25/01/19 - These are still performing brilliantly, battery life is great and they are very robust as they have been dropped a few times. The only negative I've found is the charging wire no longer charges the headphones. Weird as its never been crushed or coiled, thankfully I found the micro sb connector for my garmin 1000 fits perfectly and charged as it should. Still highly recommended but no product support available for this product with retailer so no comeback on this. Hope this helps anyone buying these
I have several other pairs of headphones, including my go-to ATH-M50X's which are outstanding, so know the sound quality which Audio-Technica produce, but also wanted some decent bluetooth headphones for mobility. I've used various other bluetooth headphones but have always been disappointed by the poor audio quality, particularly at lower frequencies and bass distortion. I was somewhat sceptical about these given the low price, but I have to say the sound quality is superb for the price range, they're comfortable, don't leak sound and are easy to pair with every device i've tried.
The one area where they could be improved is build quality, they are very plasticy and feel a bit flimsy, like they could break if not treated carefully, but can you really complain for the price, I think not!
