This is an excellent film that portrays what a truly toxic and dysfunctional family is. From the the parents who are addicts to the children who are struggling in their adult lives with their own relationships. While watching this, I couldn't help but feel bad for the parents as well as their daughters. They all have their demons to confront. And who is to blame? The parents who were raised by abusive narcissistic parents themselves? It's just a vicious cycle of toxicity and abuse. I cry at the end every time I watch this movie because of what each character is going through. From the mother to each daughter, even to the live in housekeeper, Johnna. They are all affected in some way. This is a great film that truly shows what being raised in a toxic environment with narcissistic parents can do to a person.

I think this family came from many generations of inconsiderate mean hearted cruel people, I'm glad my family wasn't raised that way. The actors did a great job and I did enjoy the movie although some parts were uncomfortable because of good acting. One example, all those men at the table and none of them put that old bitty in her place, I wouldn't have put my jacket on when it was that hot, I would have left mine off not caring about her warped opinion. Sometimes traditions or forced appearances are not practical, stand up for yourself people.
