Distance between two adjacent shoe holes: d

Distance between the hole on the left and the hole on the right: g

Remember the following formula: X = G + 2n * sqr (d ^ 2 + g ^ 2)

This formula only considers the length through the shoe hole, not the length required to tie the bow. The average shoe bow tie needs about 50cm. In other words, X + 50cm is the length of the shoelace you need!

For example, button laces do not need to be bowed, and the length of the laces is 30-40cm less than ordinary laces.

Good Laces - Suggest Smaller Length Based on Chart Provided

I bought two boxes of these shoe laces as replacements for my adult golf shoes, as well as my kids' regular shoes to give them a little more color. Instead of measuring, I went by the chart provided which said which length was suggested based on the number of eyelets on the shoes.

I bought the 47" for my adult golf shoes, which were a little on the long side. I bought the 40" for my kids' shoes, and they were also a little on the long side. I am returning the 47" to go with the 31" in the kids shoe and the 40" in my adult shoe.

3 missing from package

These are fine, but there were three laces missing from the package (not pairs, just individual laces).

Note that they come in a bag not separated out in pairs, but all clumped together tied with a loose overhand knot. Not a huge issue, but it was a bit messy untangling them. Quality is fine.

I got these for making Covid masks that tie around your head. I had great fun matching up colors with fabric from my stash. I later added toggles (also from Amazon) so you could just tighten the shoelace instead of tying it. Love the color selections and they are quality laces.

These shoelaces are being used for ties for protective face coverings. Length works well for way being used.. Variety of colors works well with all fabric colors. Do not know about durability so not rated as 5. Only negative is that shoelaces are not perfectly flat and will not iron flat. Not a big issue, just takes a little longer to make them look neat.

I make busy blankets (also called fidget quilts) for donation to the local memory care facility. One piece I like to include is something that a resident can lace up -- think two 12-inch parallel, vertical columns with 8-10 grommets on each column. One end of each lace from a pair of laces is affixed at the top of the column and the laces are threaded through the grommets to the bottom and then tied into a bow, just as you would if you were lacing up a pair of sneakers. I love that each pair of laces is a different color, the price if GREAT! and most importantly, that the laces are washable. This was my second order and I can certainly see future orders happening.

The bag had been previously opened and was missing two pairs even though the Amazon box it arrived in was sealed with no damage. A little bummed about the missing laces because they were two of the colors I needed( tan and green).
