Editorial Reviews

Review

"Shanna Hatfield writes a story that is reminiscent of the era captured byBonanza and The Virginian, complete with the conflict between cattleman and those daring to raise sheep."
InD'Tale Magazine

"Fans of good clean historical romance that is rich in detail will certainly enjoy Aundy, but anyone looking for a sweet mailorder bride tale filled with a few twists will be pleased as well. Truly one of the best mail order bride adventures that I have had thepleasure of reading."

Pendleton Petticoats Series

Set in the western town of Pendleton, Oregon, this series highlights courageous women and the men who love them.

The series begins in 1899, as Pendleton heads into a new century and an era as a booming, bustling city. During the early 1900s, Pendleton wasconsidered a modern, progressive town, despite a wild west reputation. In addition to 18 bordellos and 32 saloons, Pendleton offered residentssuch cultured experiences as an opera house, a French restaurant, and atea room. It was the second city in Oregon to have paved streets andboasted a telephone office as well as wonders like indoor plumbing tothose who could afford the services.

Servicing a huge region inEastern Oregon, it was an entertainment hub, shipping center, and somuch more, especially with the millions of bushels of wheat and poundsof wool produced in the area.

While the town didn't lack for colorful characters, those portrayed in the Pendleton Petticoats series are purely fictional.

Coming from a variety of backgrounds, the series showcases women from all walksof life who find their courage and persevere in chasing their dreams.

The series, in order, includes:

Aundy (Book 1) - One stubborn mail-order bride finds the courage tocarry on when she's widowed before ever truly becoming a wife, butopening her heart to love again may be more than she can bear.

Caterina (Book 2) - Running from a man intent on marrying her, Caterina starts a new life in Pendleton, completely unprepared for the passionatefeelings stirred by the town's deputy sheriff.

Ilsa (Book 3) - Relying on others to guide and protect her, Ilsa finally finds thestrength and courage to take control of her life. Unfortunately, herindependence drives a wedge between her and the man she's come to love.

Marnie (Book 4) - Giving up on her dreams for a future, Marnie findsher hope rekindled by one caring, compassionate man and the orphans whoneed her.
