I bought this cable specifically to replace a cheap cable that had worn through from long-term abuse in my car. This cable seems much sturdier and higher-quality, so I'm pleased with it. But it's so thick that it's hard to coil up into a small bundle, which is a little unwieldy in the car.

I use these cables to connect my laptop to my TV's audio jack. In the past I had to use an extension on a pair of dirt cheap cables. Somehow the use of an extension worsened the already average quality of the audio and it sounded as if everything was coming out of a tin can. With these cables I really hear the audio as it was meant to be heard. Immediately the differences were very apparant.

I was listening to a Persian singer I quite enjoy called Farhad Mehrad and his gentle but giant voice has a booming bass to it. With the old cables I could hardly perceive the depth of his singing and it was as if I was listening to YouTube audio quality. These cables enhanced the nuances of his style so amazingly well. It felt as though he was in the room with me and I could feel his words hitting my lungs.

There is hardly any hint of distortion, though I do notice some slight hissing when I turn the volume on my TV to 60+. This most likely has nothing to do with the cables themselves because I do not notice the hissing when plugging this cable to the speakers for my Ipod and turning it to maximum volume. Other than that, the experience has been wonderful and it is well worth to pay a little more for the type of quality these cables deliver.

I'm writing this to let others know about the cable. From other reviews, I did not get the impression that the build quality was as stout as it indicates.

My review is as follows:

a) Quality: 5 out of 5 - very well manufactured and insulated. No negative feedback from use and works as well as others have described
b) Product: 4 out of 5 - may take some 'breaking in' to get the cable to a more flexible and manageable condition. I bought this to use as a cable to connect my MP3 played to my Tacoma's auxiliary port. What I've found is that cable works well coiled (as it arrived from Amazon), but my MP3 player is hard to hold on to because of the 'stoutness' of the cable. The cable itselt has an outer cover like a strong nylon net wrapper and allows the cable to slide with ease.

All in all, there will be other uses for this cable and I surmise it will last a long time :)

Cable looks like it will last a while...I hope so. It certainly feels and sounds better quality than the cheapo one I have been using. If this one lasts a couple of years, it is worth the money as I have been spending $2 on cords which have been lasting only a few months. Cable is a little stiff but I would rather that than lesser quality. happy with product

Poor connectivity constantly caused static or complete signal loss. The cause was the plugs would just not fit snugly. This was a major disappointment considering their well-built appearance. I eventually junked these cables for much cheaper ones and my Altec Lansing Bass Expressionist PC speakers now rock as expected. As far as these Aurum cables are concerned this just goes to show the reverse of "cheapest is dearest".

We were looking for longer Aux-in cables to use in the car. The shorter cords are frustrating when someone is sitting in the back seat trying to control the iPod and constantly pulling the cable out of the jack.

I saw the poor reviews for this product so I ordered two, "just in case". The cords were spotty, at best. Sometimes, you could keep them from shorting out by applying constant pressure to the ends, but most of the time, that did not work. On rare occasions, one or the other would work fine, for maybe an hour. I would much rather have spent twice as much for one quality cord than have wasted my money. (side note- we tried both cords with numerous devices; including a brand new iPod, several older ones, an iPhone and a BlackBerry. It was not the devices, it was the cords that were problematic).

I'm currently using this cable to interface a computer with a TV. I haven't had any real problems, but this cable has 2 issues that will likely be problematic for some people. It is thick and relatively inflexible, which could be a major inconvenience if you don't need the full length of cable, for instance for a car stereo. The other problem is that the insulation around the connector is quite fat, which can make it incompatible with devices that have recessed connectors, my cell phone for instance.
