USED IN AN AQUARIUM - FOR ANY OTHER USES, THIS REVIEW WILL NOT BE HELPFUL.
Finding a plain 'ol ammonia solution to get a fishless cycle in an aquarium going is seemingly impossible. I looked in multiple grocery stores and hardware stores to no avail. This was the only option on Amazon that wasn't insanely expensive (and, frankly, for $10 for a small bottle of ammonia, the cost of this is still insane) and had quick shipping.
I can attest to the fact that this ammonia has no scents and no detergents. As others have stated, the bottle doesn't provide the concentration, but 1 tablespoon added to a 30-gallon aquarium increased by ammonia from 0 ppm to 1.0 ppm. One thing to note is that this is ammonium hydroxide and not ammonium chloride. While ammonia will tend to raise your pH, this will do so to a much higher degree due to the fact that it's essentially a base (i.e., the hydroxide portion of the compound will raise your pH). During a fishless cycle this is somewhat irrelevant, but if you're monitoring your water parameters closely during your cycle, don't be surprised when your pH spikes.
Even though the bottle is small, since my tank is fairly small this bottle has provided more than an enough ammonia. I've been adding 3-4 tablespoons daily now that my ammonia being processed to keep a supply of ammonia in the tank (which both the bacteria and plants like) and I expect that I'll have half a bottle left.
For my purposes - which are, admittedly, quite simple - this worked well for me. For other aquarists looking for an ammonia source, I can confirm that this is safe to use and will perform as needed for your cycle.
Good luck!
