I use a lot of the Authentic Foods brand flours. I depend on their stuff to be pure and truly what they say they offer, time and again. Due to allergies, I have to make my own flour blends to have bread and other baked goodies. So far, they have never let me down.

I bought this vanilla powder to act like vanilla sugar for cereals and coffee- just a nice vanilla sweetener to add something nice to everyday things. And this product delivers. I love it. I use it in my oatmeal in the morning. It is perfect- not too overpowering, not too sweet. I have never (so far) had any of the issues others have been complaining about.

I have been ordering this vanilla for a few years and the ingredients list and size has always been Naturel Vanilla Bean Extractives, Evaporated Cane Juice, Silica, Cellulose with a size of 3oz and has a black lid. It is now Evaporated Cane Juice, Tapioca, Vanilla Bean Extractives, Ground Vanilla Bean with a size of 2.5 oz. The taste and texture are different. It has always been worth the little extra it cost, but not anymore. It is still good but no longer superior.

Amazon now sells pure food-grade vanillin, so I've switched over to that.

It's wonderful! The other stuff is either just ground vanilla bean--which is super expensive and not exactly what i want--or it's mostly sugars & starches with only a hint of vanilla.

This is truely VANILLA FLAVOR in powdered form.

Some other reviews said the flavor was weak, and I can only guess that they're either getting a very different batch than what was shipped to me in the Northeast US, or they think vanilla is just supposed to taste like sugar? The latter seems like the only way someone could be happy with the Cook's brand stuff.

This has some sugar, but vanilla is the first ingredient, and the smell and taste bear that out.

If you're concerned about a sandy taste though, it is filled out partly with sillica, which is basically extremely fine sand. It's a common food filler, and I don't notice the taste of it. But it bothered one of the other reviewers, so that's something to watch out for if you're sensitive to it.

I have a bottle of this in with my coffee things and put some in my coffee. It's already got a little sweetener with it ("cane juice", which I think just means "sugar") so I don't need to add much sugar to my coffee. I just like to take the edge off the bitterness that most coffee has.

I like this a lot. I've bought this a couple of times now, and it actually takes a while to use up. I'm not sure how long, but it's at least months. It has a nice vanilla flavor, and it's great in coffee.

I read the poor reviews and figured people were just being picky and obnoxious. I wish is have listened.

The fact that it has sugar didn't bother me, though I'm diabetic. I just wanted to sprinkle it along with cocoa to decorate the tops of my drinks. I went ahead and got this on subscribe and save because I thought I'd be Using it a lot.

When I opened the bottle, it faintly smelled like vanilla. excited, I went ahead and made my drink, added mywhipped cream, sprinkled on my cocoa, then this vanilla powder. The whole thing sank to the bottom of my cup! Nonplussed, I figured it was something I did wrong, mixed it into the coffee then drank. Towards the end of the drink, which had NO vanilla flavor at all, I kept noticing grit. I figured some coffee grounds were in my cup. Wrong! It was the vanilla powder. I tried a little directly from the bottle. I may as well have visited the beach.

When the next shipment arrived I tried the bottle, thinking the first one was a fluke. Nope. Zero vanilla smell or taste, same sandy beaches result. I will NOT order this ever again.
