The Author Training Manual: A Comprehensive Guide to Writing Books That Sell Kindle Edition
If you want to write a book that's going to sell to both publishers and readers, you need to know how to produce a marketable work and help it become successful. It starts the moment you have an idea. That's when you begin thinking about the first elements of the business plan that will make your project the best it can be.
The reality is that you don't want to spend time and energy writing a book that will never get read. The way to avoid that is to create a business plan for your book, and evaluate it (and yourself) through the same lens that an agent or acquisitions editor would. The Author Training Manual will show you how to get more creative and start looking at your work with those high standards in mind.
Whether you're writing fiction or non-fiction, or intend to publish traditionally or self-publish, author Nina Amir will teach you how to conduct an effective competitive analysis for your work and do a better job at delivering the goods to readers than similar books that are already on the shelf.
Packed with step-by-step instructions, idea evaluations, sample business plans, editor and agent commentaries, and much more, The Author Training Manual provides the information you need to transform from aspiring writer to career author.

From the Author
I wish I'd had this manual when I started out as an aspiring author, butI'm so pleased to provide it to you so you can discover quickly what ittook me so many years to learn.
If you've read How to Blog a Book, you'll find that The Author Training Manual takes you on an in-depth journey through what I previously called "theproposal process." In fact, I've written an entire book based on onechapter from my previous book. Why? Because what I now call "the AuthorTraining Process" is such an important aspect of becoming an author andproducing a marketable book. Indeed, used correctly, it does, indeed, train you to become a successful author--one who sells books.
I hope you'll purchase The Author Training Manual and do just that: train yourself to succeed as an independentlypublished or traditionally published author. If you do, you will enjoythe opportunity to share your message or story and actually make ameaningful impact on readers' lives and a positive difference in theworld.

The Competitive Analysis and How It Helps Angle Your Book (starts on page 74)

Putting Promotion into Action (starts on page 142)
Sample of An Author Business Proposal (page 184) and more
comparing the competition And if your idea is unique And necessary pages 216)- the reason why I respectfully disagree with this Angle is because I read in Another book (A spiritual book but still published nonetheless) that two writers could be coming from both Angles And there was An implication of different levels of popularity but that both could still have the potential to provide writing with A purpose to their Audiences because they would be reaching out in different ways And through their perspectives. I understand that the Authors have only good intentions with this Advice; it is just that I felt the need to imply why what is on page 216 could be interpreted subjectively instead of just objectively.
This is a fun approach that makes this relatable. She offers nine steps to be successful as you try to not only write a book but write one that sells. For instance, along with the "author attitude" you must #2, Know Your Book and Why Someone Would Want to Buy It. She really digs in to encourage you to #3, Analyze How Many People Really Might Buy Your Book, and check out what the competition is doing. Not only is this setting up a realistic outlook, it's giving you concrete steps to take to take action and build your platform. She offers strategies to help change your vision along the way if necessary in order to reach your goals, like #6, Decide If Your Book's Content Matches Your Initial Vision. Finally, she approaches how to find a good publisher. I found the author positive and encouraging while also realistic, which is really important. I think any aspiring author will find something to enjoy and benefit from in this book.
This book will clarify the nature and value of the proposal and support you in its preparation section by section. It will serve as a coach, explaining what you need to do an why each step of the way. There are several exercises that the author provides to help you in preparing each piece of the proposal. By the time you have them all done, you have the outline of your proposal set and some of the details in place.
Why would you try to take a project like this without the support of an excellent guide? Don't let yourself get lost, Take your travel guide with you. You won't regret it.

What I really liked about the book, though, is that it comes with worksheets. Now I'm not a great 'worksheeter', lacking the necessary patience to make them sing for me. This time I have been meticulous, and guess what? Surprise, surprise, I got TONS from the process
