Solid live album from the great Lynyrd Skynyrd!

I found this by accident as I was going through Amazon to look for albums to add to my growing cd collection. I was excited to find this & immediately purchased it as I am a lifelong Skynyrd fan. I eagerly put it on & was amazed at the great sound quality, the tightness of the band, & another version of Skynyrd playing these songs with two guitar player live versus three. Gary & Allen are very tight, Ronnie's vocals are whiskey soaked smooth, while Artimus Pyle pounds away with Leon in lockstep rythmn! I really love this live offering & I am so glad it is finally out! I know the show in Cardiff was a part of the "Freebird-The Movie" soundtrack & I have always hoped it would come out as a valuable companion to the only live Skynyrd offering, "One More From The Road", previously offered. The price is astounding! You cannot get a better live offering for this price & if you are a true Skynyrd fan, it is a must for your collection! I always buy my music at Amazon, best prices & selection anywhere!

Bought this for the Free Bird version on this. Heard it on the radio and just had to have it. There may be better Free Bird versions out there; if you know of one, please respond here and let me know. The rest of the CD is just fine too. But I hit the volume hard for the Free Bird.
Quick Edit: I broke this CD in half a few months later because it was so danged hard to get it out of the CD case. Out of the hundreds of CDs I've purchased, this is the only time that has happened. Flaw in the case? CD too fragile? Operator error? Hard to say...

Other reviewers have noted the absence of three of the songs performed that night along with the fact that Ronnie's voice was hoarse but it is still a great show. Any Skynyrd show is worth having, but it should be the WHOLE SHOW. This show was recorded shortly after Ed King departed so it's a two-guitar attack but it's Allen and Gary... Do I need to say any more? But this CD and crank it up for the neighbors. They'll thank you for it. This is one of the CD's I keep in my car and I BLAST IT! [Actually I play all Skynyrd music loud so I can drown out the crap other people are blasting on their car stereos.]

Vintage Skynyrd is long overdue. The set is strong and sounds good.
The real win here is Skynyrd using 2 guitars and not 3. They were known for the triple ax attack but this shows how truly good/great rossington and collins could play. The band sounds is rich, full and a little gritty and dirty at the same time. what's nice is this the band on any night on the road a true snap shot. Not a live alblum planned in advance.
Artemis Pyle sounded big. Besides being a great frint man and singer for this band, Ronnie could flat our write.
I got away from Skynyrd for a longtime, but this makes them sound fresh and relevant again.

I respectfully believe the 2 previous reviewers have missed the point regards this release,this is a fantastic piece of history,early skynyrd,live in the uk.The track listing is fine by me,i've had this on vinyl for 25 years and its the same track listing,surely we should review whats on here and not worry about whats not,regards the price,yes it was initially high but i shopped around and got this and its companion for approx £6 each!!! a bargain in anyones book.Of course neither this or winterlands' will rival 'one more from.... or indeed 'freebird the movie' but thats not the point,its an excellent release in its own right,a fantastic performance proving yet again that this band knew no equal
