The containers on this model are round, not squared like previous models, thus no stuck and unblended foods. I've made juices with leafy vegetables and fiberous fruits and they've come out nice and smooth. Even most all of the strawberry seeds get pulverized with this bad boy.
I also use this Ninja to grind coffee beans and make oat flour, the result is soft and fluffy.
The recipe book that comes with this has some great juice recipes too. There are recipes for sauces, pesto and numerous other things that all sound delicious but I haven't made them yet so I can't say for sure.
I haven't had this model for too terribly long but it seems of good quality and if the first model is any indication it will last for years. I've had zero issues with leaks like I've heard from other expensive juicers. This model, although loud when blending ice and a few other things, is quieter than the original and quieter than other juicers that I've used. Id say its about as loud as a KitchenAid stand mixer.
This package is great because not only can you easily and cleanly make juices everyday with three beverage cups but you can make salsas, sauces, guacamole, pesto, soup and numerous other things with the 48oz pitcher.
I ordered mine through Amazing Deals on Amazon. Very happy with my purchase!
So far this is much better then a previous brand I purchased.
What I like about it is it has a built in safety shutoff if you overload the blender and cause stress on the motor unlike the previous brand I was using which weakened and almost burned out the motor after only a few uses.
The Auto IQ is great.
The way Auto IQ works is for example you press the button (such as Pro Extraction or XL Extraction) and the motor will detect whether you loaded the blender with heavy stuff like frozen fruit and tough veggies etc., and it will start and it will initially blend a little. Then stop for a few seconds and blend some more...and then stop for a second or two, and then blend a little longer each time as the stuff becomes blended.
This is an excellent idea because some older models in other brands may simply burn out the motor if you over load it.
But not with the Nutri Ninja Blender Auto-IQ Complete Extraction System 1000W Professional BL486.
I am very happy with this product.
The motor of this is strong enough for my ice and frozen fruit. I haven't tried it with anything hard, like carrots. I also haven't used it on anything else other than smoothies. But, I have made almost 100 smoothies in this and I can tell you that it does an excellent job with them. It blends it to a wonderful, smooth consistency. When using the "Pro Extraction" button it works much different than my other Ninja. It blends it for a few seconds, then pauses, then blends and pauses. It does this about 4-5 times. I'm guessing this is to give a pause for the ingredients to trickle down to the blade area and then blend again. On the regular Ninja I would have to manually pause it so it could settle and then start it again. I love that I can push the button on this and then just leave it until it's done. This has suction pus so it doesn't move at all on the counter.
I love all the cups that come with it. I will say, I honestly thought I would use the metal one all the time, but the see through plastic ones are my favorite. They are dishwasher safe and I can see inside to make sure that everything is mixing well. Occasionally I won't put enough liquid in mine and I have to add a little extra because it won't blend well. The metal one is great for keeping my smoothies cold for a long time. I use the larger one when I'm making a smoothie and my kids want one too. I double my ingredients and we all get a smoothie. In the summer I will use the larger one for adult beverages. The lids all fit well and have a nice spout for me to put my large smoothie straws in them.
My favorite smoothie:
I have my go-to favorite smoothie ever. I make it daily with occasional variations depending on what I have on hand. Here's my approximate recipe:
-Large handful of spinach, kale and chard (I buy this in a large bag at Costco)
-1 scoop Alive whole food energizer
-1 tbsp. chia seeds
-1 tbsp. flaxseed oil
-Organic apple juice (a splash)
-Fill up with Organic berry antioxidant blend (Costco as well)
I blend this up for a wonderful, refreshing, health smoothie!
My mom has had a wonderful time with hers as well. She uses cocunt milk instead of apple juice and loves it. We both are so happy with our Ninja Auto-IQ blenders
