Through a life of passion and struggle, Malcolm X became one of the most influential figures of the 20th Century. In this riveting account, he tells of his journey from a prison cell to Mecca, describing his transition from hoodlum to Muslim minister. Here, the man who called himself "the angriest Black man in America" relates how his conversion to true Islam helped him confront his rage and recognize the brotherhood of all mankind. An established classic of modern America, The Autobiography of Malcolm X was hailed by the New York Times as "Extraordinary. A brilliant, painful, important book." Still extraordinary, still important, this electrifying story has transformed Malcom X's life into his legacy. The strength of his words, the power of his ideas continue to resonate more than a generation after they first appeared.

From AudioFile

Joe Morton successfully captures the essence of Malcolm X by presenting the text straight from the hip. In the opening, he speaks bitterly about the murderous bigotry Malcolm experiences as a child. With a slick, fast-talking voice Morton portrays Malcolm's life as a young hustler then shifts his tone to one of powerful conviction when recounting Malcolm's conversion to the Black Muslim faith and his realization of his vocation. Roscoe Lee Browne's solemn, resonant narration connects Morton's dramatization to an objective chronicle of significant events in the leader's life and gently bridges the text. The result proves an intriguing program. M.P.T. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine

Black Muslim : All White is Not Alright
This is a book for inspiration, guidance and careful detour AWAY from racism fascism. The Autobiography of Malcolm X (TAO M.X) is about one of the most thoughtful soulful activiststhe Master Malcolm Xas related to biographer Alex Haley.Master M.X was a great thinker and speaker who was gunned down like Mahatma Gandhi, John Lennon, Dr. King and so many other martyrs opposed to the Evil Empire.About half of TAO M.X is by Alex Haley about M.X and the ordeal of writing the story, and the other half is the story about M.X by himself. The word "Negro" is used quite often in this version. The most interesting parts were M.X views on world history, according to the instructors of M.X such as Elijah Muhammad who described black history different to white history.TAO M.X has some alternate perspectives such as1. Inter racial sex business (pimping, wife games, etc)2. Chains of slavery caused by dangerous drugs such as alcohol3. Human wars such as the Vietnam War, a meat grinder of extreme hypocrisy, which destroyed the lives and families of so many Black African Youth in North America, born into poverty and despair and used as cannon fodder to enrich War Criminal pockets.I offer these reasons for any caring reader to obtain this fine work of conscience and empowerment:1. At various points of my younger life, I could actually "hear" the speeches of great Black Leaders, such as M.X, Dr. King and Louis X via a third ear of psychic sense, from a far distance. These black leaders openly raged against wicked white ways and I heard some of it completely separate from the human media.TAO M.X was written about one of the greatest Black leaders... of all time.2. Once a fine young Black Muslim I knew was murdered, perhaps to forbid me from experiencing the beauty of Islam:The man was serving in the US military, and very much to his credit, avoided the evils of White Poison (Alcohol), White Smoke (Tobacco) and other wicked white ways, and always seemed to be a fine very decent personbut suddenly he "disappeared"...Several months later his submerged body was located underwater by a bridge. The cause of death : gunshot to the head.To this day I claim this murder to possibly be a deliberate attempt to prevent me, and others, from coming to Love and Know the Beauty of Islam, "The Other Side" of Life, and anthing else in Reality and Truth that threatens the Evil Empire.TAO M.X is partially about Black Islam and reveals some possible suppression and internal strife within Black Islam.3. When people are forcefully oppressed into poverty and despair, and build dreams, hopes and lives of caring sharing INSIDE, then these people acquire Power GREATER than ruling human power...Divine Beings living as descendants of African slaves in North America have had plenty of this Power...TAO M.X can be a book of empowerment, liberation and discipline via righteousness, conscience and struggle as exemplified by Malcolm X.But you should keep in mind that many Black Slaves were first captured and thrown into slavery by "Moslem" slave traders:For every white Abraham Abolitionist there were hundreds, possibly thousands, of dark Abraham abductors who attacked African organic villages, societies of natural harmony, and then converted and subjegated African people, like a commodity, into golden barter the racism religion holds sacred. These black and brown abductors were slavers, traitors in a trade partnership with Christian Judaism. In my heart and soul I give TAO M.X five stars, but due to Moslem inclusion of a murderous fanatic fundatextual blood thirsty barbaric cut throat human religion, I only give TAO M.X three stars. All praise to Malcolm X and Freedom Fighters everywhere.Long Live Liberty !
