Editorial Reviews

Vinyl LP pressing. Inspired early on by music from the likes of Massive Attack, Boards of Canada, Depeche Mode, and Phillip Glass, Home Video intertwine the classically-trained sensibilities of Gross with the confessional and at times existential lyrics of Ruffino. With The Automatic Process, the band layers samples, synthesizers, piano, guitar, and live drums to build an electro-tinted minimalist rock that drives steadily towards the sublime -- a spacious soundtrack evocative of a fractured dream.

I really loved No Certain Night or Morning, but this CD is even better. It's probably one of my top five CDs of all time at this point. I would and do recommend it to anyone asking me if there is any music I'd recommend.

This album is for fans of Radiohead, Broken Bells, Black Ghosts, Beck, Depeche Mode, Tin Star...this is the more mainstream album made by Home Video. It's a lovely, rather approachable version of their other two albums. Standouts include "Every Love There Ever Was," "You Will Know What to Do," (both remind me of Coldplay), and Business Transaction (my favorite). Highly recommended.

Just got through listening to this for the first time and was really astonished at the level of songwriting through out the entire LP. Very O.M.D. or New Order'sh. I would safely recommend this to anybody, definitely lifts the spirits (which I really needed at the time), and like I said consistently great songs which you don't see often now days. As a note - while I was listening to this (I'm a graphic artist at a print shop), 3 customers asked me who I was listening too, and two wrote the name down (betcha the 3rd had a good memory). Guys - buy this, your girls will love it and Girls buy this - you'll find yourself (and your guys) dancing to a brighter day. (God that sounded awful, but it is true)

Well I am not a Pitchfork denizen, and this is potentially my favorite band, so I am not sure how helpful I can be.

I can say however that if you liked No Certain Night or Morning you will love this album. Frequently I am disappointed and full on saddended when there is an actual amazing gem of a record and the band can never produce another album close (Wolf Parade God damn it). However this album keeps up the pace of the first. I cannot really conclude if it is better than the first album or not but it is probably of similar quality in my opinion. If you are reading this review you should probably just buy this album, no "At Mount Zoomer" here.
