Stephanie Black has loved books since she was old enough to grab the pages and has enjoyed creating make-believe adventures since she and her sisters were inventing long Barbie games filled with intrigue and danger or running around pretending to be detectives. She is a four-time Whitney Award winner for Best Mystery/Suspense Novel. Stephanie lives in northern California, plays the violin in a community symphony but never practices enough, and likes to wander around taking pictures of birds. She enjoys spending time with her family, is a fan of homemade pizza, chocolate-chip cookies, and naps, and ranks as the cat's third-favorite person, though that ranking is shaky. “A Hound Dog Named Elvis”- This one had a few things that were a bit off. I think this would have been more interesting as a full-length novel where the story could have been fully developed. The one thing that bothered me throughout the story was that the dogs were dachshunds, not basset hounds. It might not be a big thing, but since the song and Elvis are associated with basset hounds, having the dogs be basset hounds just feels more appropriate. I would give this story 4 stars.
“Eye for an Eye”-Stephanie Black is one of my favorite writers, and she did not disappoint with this story. It was interesting. Although I feel like it was fairly easy to figure out at least some of the mystery, it still kept me guessing how things were going to turn out. Part of me wishes that this could have been a full-length novel so the story could have been developed more, but ultimately, I think a full-length novel probably would have dragged out the story a bit too much. I’d give this one 5 stars.
“First Heist”- This book really isn’t my style. It’s a little too action-packed for my taste, and I was a bit confused at a few points. As a warning, there is at least one incidence where a character swears, and there are a few times when it is implied that the characters’ morals might be a bit looser than would be expected in a clean novel. Overall, I’d give this novella 3.5 stars.
“Letter for Two”- This is a sweet, slightly cheesy romance. The two main characters are both falling for each other, but neither one is fully ready to admit their feelings for the other person out of fear of rejection. I felt like the characters were relatable and realistic. This one gets 5 stars. I’d list this one as my favorite of the bunch.
“Silver Cascade Secrets”- I’m not a huge fan of this one. It has some swearing in it. I feel like our two main characters, Travis and Jillian, move way too quickly in their relationship. I also found Travis a bit creepy. That’s the best way that I can describe him. If I were Jillian, I’d be running in the other direction, or at least working to avoid him, rather than falling in love with him in no time. I found their relationship odd and a bit disturbing rather than romantic. I’d give this novella 3.5 stars.
“Chocolate Obsessed” – This is a fun story about two chocolate rivals. There is some swearing in this story as well. While it was an enjoyable story, it was a bit far-fetched. I’d put this one in the romance category more than in the mystery or suspense category. Overall, I’d give this one 4.5 stars.
Six marvelous stories, well crafted by talented writers. Lots of emotional depth in bite size chunks that will keep you page turning.
Delightful.
I do have to ask...where’s the editor in the online versions? I read this on my kindle and the editing errors are quite distracting. There are so many simple corrections needed that they interrupt the enjoyment of reading.

Die einzige Ausnahme ist "A Letter for Two", das ist wirklich süß und hat alleine fünf Sterne verdient, der Rest eher gegen Null.
Gehört NICHT unter die Überschrift "Timeless Romance"!
