However, I don't think I'll be buying it again. Unfortunately, the company has reformulated the product. It no longer includes magnesium ascorbyl phosphate as the form of Vitamin C. It now contains ascorbic acid, and it's almost near the end of the ingredient list, leading me to believe it isn't very potent in Vitamin C.
Also, the smell is no longer nice. Instead of fresh citrus, To me it smells like over ripe or rotting oranges.
It's too bad that a great product had to change. Why? I don't know. The company's customer relations department couldn't tell me. I'm also a fan and user of the renewal facial cream, which she said also has been reformulated.
Those ingredients are terrific and good for your skin. I am using the second bottle right now, and I will definitely keep using this product.
Usually I am extremely fugal and have passed up opportunities to buy Vitamin C serums before but when I asked the cashier for the price, it was too late to turn back, so I bought it at a whooping $22.
Took it home and tried it that first night and twice a day since then up until today, 3 weeks later and I do not regret plunking down that insane amount of money for a "miracle" product. The dark circles around my eyes have pretty much blended in with the rest of my skin tone which has taken on a brightened glow. I was amazed how fast this worked for me. I actually can go out in public without concealer, something I havent done in over a year.
I am black American with a dark brown complexion, this reduced dramatically the appearance of my dull greyish hyper pigmentation. The trick is to use it consistently on a cleansed face. I highly recommend this product and once I am done with this bottle, I will be purchasing again here on Amazon for a cheaper price.

Then i looked up sodium benzoate and found this article from Spa From Scratch.com:
One known cancer danger exists related to sodium benzoate. If you combine ascorbic acid (vitamin C) with sodium benzoate and potassium benzoate (another preservative), you get benzene. Benzene is a known carcinogen. Most of the benzene exposure comes from the environment including cigarette smoke, car exhaust, industrial waste and service stations. Some benzene exposure can also come from contaminated food and water. Some soft drinks have been removed from the market when they were found to contain benzene.
This serum exactly combines: ascorbic acid (vitamin C) with sodium benzoate and potassium benzoate

I'm only giving it 4 stars because this product is very inconsistent. This particular bottle came from a batch that has a heavy feel of cocoa butter to it, almost waxy. Read morePublished 1 month ago by EMM
