I received this product free for review but as always, despite receiving a free product I'm perfectly candid in my review. My observations follow below in more or less chronological order.

* Pairing is quick and easy, about 10 seconds the first time.

* Good audio output; solid on both ends of the audio spectrum.

* Testing the mic, Siri was able to hear and understand my commands from 6 feet away with background noise so the mic is solid

* Of all the in-ear headphones I've tried these are among the most comfortable. They come with interchangeable earbuds so you can get the level of fit that you want.

* One odd thing that's worth noting is that the headphone cables are different lengths. The right is intended to curl around behind your head

I just received this item. I had no problem charging the unit, and it took about 1 hour.

The unit is made to be clipped on your shirt collar or where you find the buttons on polo shirts and such. However, you can clip anywhere else as long as you find other headphones and use it with the clipper which is actually one of the features I found most interesting....the clipper can make any headphones wireless! I primarily used it with the headphones that came with the clipper. The headphones provided good sound and good bass, but again, you are free to use your apple headphones or whatever else you want, just plug it in and BOOM! wireless headphones baby!

The device looks really cool (at least to me) and the clipper is surprisingly strong, it never fell or let loose during a 2 mile run. Also, I don't know if the device itself is waterproof or not, but the I sweat a lot during the run and the headphones still worked fine, I would try it in the shower though :)

I have only charged it once during a week of use but i don't know if the battery is low, I guess I will find out with a series of beeps or when it dies.

As far as pairing, the device only has ONE button and this is the button that you use to turn it on, turn it off and pair it. To pair, press the bluetooth button for about 8 second and the lights will flash red and blue so the device can be discovered, the name of the device is "Avantree Clipper".

One last thing, the wires of the headphones are flat and thin and DO NOT get tangled. This could be because they are short to begin with but it may be a design feature. I always get my apple headphones tangled.

I have only had the clipper for about 1 week and if they break or something goes wrong, I will update my review, but as of right now I am happy with them and I think they are great for the price. Don't be a sucker paying for the motorola or LG brand name on the headphones and paying $30+ more.

This Bluetooth adapter receiver works great! I use it at the gym paired up with my favorite earbuds/IEMs. For me, this is a great compromise between Bluetooth earbuds (which I have yet to find the perfect pair) and using my own earbuds attached to a music source (phone, MP3 player, ipod, etc...). This Bluetooth receiver is very light weight, and I am able to perfectly sync to my phone and use my phone as the music source (apps, music saved to the phone, etc...). I dislike having my phone in my pocket at the gym and I don't want to fiddle with another ipod or PM3 device that I have to load music too. Again, this was the perfect compromise for me!

I have found the battery life to be more than adequate. Sorry, I don't have an exact number since I just charge it after a few days of use at the gym. The range is comparable to all other Bluetooth headphones I have used. Again, sorry, I don't have an exact distance.

For the price, this is a great item! But please do yourself a favor and throw the earbuds that come with the Avantree receiver in the garbage where they belong. They are absolutely terrible IMHO.

I was so looking forward to the bluetooth clipper after being disappointed by i6 by Bluedio. The Avantree clipper arrived on time. The product however, was not perfect. I heard a hissing sound during a phone conversation. At first I thought it could be my phone, but even with a different phone the hissing was apparent. Therefore, I will not recommend it for a phone conversation. For music the product produced good sound for a bluetooth speakers in this price range.

Included in the box with the Avantree Clipper headphones with the clip-on microphone are the instructions, a warranty card, a quick start guide, 3 pairs of ear cushions, a carry bag, and an USB to micro USB charging cable (approximately 3 feet 3 inches in length).

I tried this headset out on my Galaxy S4 and there were no issues with pairing. Just hold down the multi-function button on the detachable microphone for about 10 seconds and it is ready to pair. In addition to the multifunction button there are the volume controls (which also are the next/back buttons) on the face of the microphone. The one issue I have with the volume buttons is that they are not marked as which is up and which is down. I would have liked to seen some type of identifying marks for them.

Initial charging took about 2 hours and battery life is pretty good with approximately 6 hours of talk/music time and a good standby time. To power on, just hold the MFB for a few seconds and a tone will sound in the ear piece to let you know they are on. The range of the headphones in distance from the phone itself before it starts cutting out is ok as a headset in this price range at about 20 feet from the phone before getting interruptions.

Phone calls reception on both ends was clear and sounded really good for a headset in this price range (one of the better I have heard for phone calls). The audio was clear on both ends and understandable with no reception issues. The microphone especially was good, partly because of the ability to clip it wherever you need on your shirt to help with better mic reception. Music played on the ear pieces (from music on the net and saved on the phone) was ok but lacked a bit of bass punch and volume, although passable as a music headset.Read more ›
