The setup of this calendar is different from other calendars. On the top half there is one big picture, and then on the bottom half there are two smaller pictures on top of the calendar part with all the boxes. This is great if you're buying this for the pictures and not so great if you're buying this for the calendar part because to be able to fit the two smaller pictures, the calendar part is shrunken. It is a little harder to read and there isn't much room to write stuff. But I bought this calendar for the pictures; I never write things in the boxes so it didn't bother me that much.
Yes, this is a 16 month calendar so it does the last four months of the previous year. The only thing is it crams them all onto one page so you have to get real close to it to see the numbers and unless you write microscopically, then you won't get more than a word or two in there. So basically, this is a 12 month calendar.
There is one thing that I am puzzled about. On the picture for this calendar there is a little purple bubble that says it comes with a glow-in-the-dark poster. And unless they consider one of the pages or the front cover a poster, it didn't come with one. I was expecting a little 11X17 paper poster that I could frame or something. Not a big deal, but I was looking forward to having another piece of memorabilia from this great movie.
Should you buy this calendar? If Avatar captured your imagination and earned its place as one of your favorite movies, then absolutely YES!! If not, then you won't find this exciting.
The pictures in this calendar are very beautiful. I like them very much. I especially like that the pictures for September are love scenes between Jake and Neytiri. That month will be my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend who I met because of Avatar :)
(The language I'm speaking up there would be Na'vi, the language spoken in Avatar. That's how much of a fan I am lol. For the record though, Na'vi IS a real language that one CAN learn and use for communication.)
