Félix Báez-Jorge (Autor) Antropólogo social egresado de la Universidad Veracruzana, con estudios de doctorado en Etnohistoria en la Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia. Obtuvo el grado de doctor en Historia Contemporánea por la Universidad del País Vasco. En 1984 recibió la beca John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Desde 1990 es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores de México. Es miembro regular de la Academia Mexicana de las Ciencias y autor de 16 libros y de más de 160 artículos sobre temas de su especialidad. Ha publicado 15 obras en coautoría. Actualmente es investigador del Instituto de Investigaciones Histórico-Sociales de la Universidad Veracruzana, México. Ha dictado conferencias y/o seminarios en varias universidades e instituciones de México y del extranjero. Líneas de investigación: pensamiento simbólico, pensamiento religioso y mitología mesoamericana; religiones populares, identidades culturales; historia de la antropología en México.
