I am a gamer.
I am also married.
My wife often wants me in the same room as her regardless of what she is watching.
I don't watch TV anymore so my solution was putting a monitor on a chair and hooking up my PS4 or Xbox to it and game with head phones.
After watching the movie ready player one, I was wondering if we had advanced enough to have some thing similar.
We have.
Most products are 300 dollars plus.
These were not as expensive.
The quality is not 1080P
However for a gamer's solution it is great
They charged while I was gaming (USB Port on PS4)
They have decent quality for the price and my range of vision was good.
They are a bit heavy, and my nose got some tired but not unbearable.
Have not tested the battery life, my next step so I did not put a rating.
Hooked it up to my iPhone with the lightning to HDMI adapter and watched Netflix, worked flawlessly.

Wonder how it would look with a phone connected to a drone!!
Anyway, practical use as a monitor is good.
Quality could be some better but for the price, im not complaining.
Being able to ride a train or plain and use these give a great level of privacy.
You will have to adapt to the eye pieces, at first it looks like your looking through binoculars.
This was my Christmas present from my wife, for any tech who has it all... Try these.

-Sturdy design
-Good picture quality (with qualifiers). 1280x720 is the max resolution, but it's a very clear 1280x720
-There was no "screen door" effect that I could notice
-Decent sound

Cons:
-Lenses are FAR too small. Should have been 25% - 50% larger
-Unacceptably poor viewing angle. When looking straight through the lenses, the focal point is at the top of the screen, not
the center.
-No way to adjust the screen position to center it on the lens focus point.
-No built in brightness adjustment.

I got this primarily to play games without distracting family members with sound and to have a more immersive experience. It works quite well, and I joke that I look like Geordi La Forge from TNG while wearing it. I have very poor eyes and am incredibly nearsighted, but the Glyph is able to be adjusted to my eyes. However, the overall comfort of the Glyph isn't all that great. Wearing the included head strap is a must, and in my experience, my eyes start to get a little tired after a few hours of use. The picture is quite crisp, and while the only 720P, I wasn't really able to discern individual pixels. The color accuracy of the device is fine. However, I started seeing some artifacts on the screen, similar to CRT burn-in, resulting in a little bit of lost quality. This was especially apparent in games like FIFA, where both the camera and players are constantly moving.

The audio quality is just OK. My $60 MA390 earbuds sound nicer, though I didn't buy this device for the audio quality. They sound a lot like your standard Skullcandy Grind or similar.

Battery Life is passable at best. Plugging in the device while playing is iffy unless you have a separate USB power source. My laptop treated the USB connections as a mouse, messing up my game a fair bit, making me wait for the device to fully charge before I could resume my gaming session.

Overall, it's an excellent proof-of-concept, but I think it may have needed a little more work before it was released to the public.

I like the Avegant Glyph for several reasons. Those reasons are:
1- It’s lightweight. It’s very lightweight and comfortable to wear specially if you compare it to other head mounted devices out there.
2- There aren’t a ton of cables. You can simply plug in the mini HDMI to HDMI and that’s that. Some other head mounted devices require that you connect a small box with the headset.
3- It does the job for what I need it for. I use it as a monitor a lot. It’s comfortable enough to wear for hours. The picture quality is really good for the price. I had a higher end head mounted device with better picture quality but the weight on my head was just too much.
4- Battery life. Great battery life. It lasts for about 4 hours, and it charges pretty fast when connected to the computer via its USB port. Sometimes I use it and charge it at the same time and it doesn’t overhead or anything. That was a big selling point for me because I have an oculus rift and thought of getting an oculus go, but the oculus go’s battery life is of only 2.5 hours. The Glyph surprised me with its battery life.

The one thing I didn’t like much was the sound quality. It’s fine when you have something playing or when you’re playing a game, but if it’s not playing any audio you can hear a constant background noise coming from the headset. It doesn’t bother me that much, but I know other head mounted devices that don’t have that problem.

Still, of all the head mounted devices I own this is the one I use the most, it’s comfortable, easy to set up, and has a very decent picture quality.

I love this think and I show everyone. It's perfect for most visual tasks. But I did have a few issues when I need to read something on the edges of the screen like in Windows, Pubg maps or weapons and browsing. It's hard to see the Windows start bar at times.

Id like an option to zoom out more, since most content is made square but you're doing everything round. I'd like to move the screen away from my eyes a little so I can read the edges more.

Also need other features turned on and setup like Bluetooth.

Ich habe mir den Glyph zugelegt, weil ich auf Reisen immer mal wieder Film schauen möchte, und dass aber ungestört. Die Videobrille kostet zwar schon einen Haufen Geld, aber ich finde es lohnt sich. Zum einen macht es echt Spaß mit ihm Filme zu schauen, zum anderen ist der Sound bombastisch. Natürlich kann man ihn auch als Kopfhörer alleine nutzen, dafür ist er aber zu teuer. Ich hab ihn jetzt ein paar Mal benutzt und er gefällt mir sehr gut. Hat man das Gerät richtig eingestellt, was nicht so einfach ist und einfach Zeit braucht, dann bekommt man sehr schöne Bilder und einen sehr guten Sound präsentiert. Die Einstellung selbst ist nicht kompliziert, sie benötigt aber Zeit. In der Kurzanleitung ist schön beschrieben, worauf man achtgeben muss, bitte nicht den Fehler begehen und einfach aufsetzen – denn das bringt mehr Frust als Lust. Man kann den Glyph in der Weite verstellen (Bügel wie beim Kopfhörer), die Linsen sind justierbar und Brillenträger können sogar die Dioptrien einstellen. Nutzt man ihn als Kopfhörer so drückt man einfach die Linsen rein, wechselt die Nasenklammer und macht eine Lederabdeckung drauf, welche mitgeliefert wird. Dann ist alles vor Staub geschützt und kann nicht kaputtgehen oder zerkratzen. Angesteckt wird die Videobrille per mitgeliefertem HDMI Kabel, welches man als Beispiel an den PC oder einem Blu-ray Player anstecken kann. Sogar mit meiner X-Box One hatte ich meinen Spaß, im Bett liegend zu spielen – ohne einen TV im Schlafzimmer zu haben – hat was.

Es gibt aber auch Dinge dir mir nicht gefallen, daher hat er auch nicht die volle Stern-Zahl erhalten. Zum einen finde ich die Anleitung ein wenig zu minimalistisch, ich finde es gehören mehr Tipps zum Einstellen rein und auch eine Fehlerbeschreibung mit Lösung. Zum anderen finde ich die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten nicht so gut, da man das Bild selbst nicht einstellen kann, sondern dies an der Quelle machen muss. Leider hat er nur drei Helligkeitsstufen, was in meinen Augen zu wenig ist.

Das mitgelieferte Zubehör ist dafür üppig, mit dabei sind das Ladekabel, das HDMI-Kabel, die oben genannte Lederabdeckung, eine kleine Tasche für die Nasenklammern und die Kabel, 4 verschiedene Nasenklammern für verschiedene Nasenformen, ein Hardcase zum sicheren Verstauen und die Minianleitung.

Alles in allem hat er 4 von 5 Sterne verdient.

Ich habe das Produkt neu für 150 Euro bei Amazon erworben. Das muss ich vorausschicken.
Die Bewertung bemisst sich am Kaufpreis, hätte die Brille 600.- gekostet würde ich sie vermutlich zurücksenden.
So bin ich aber zufrieden.
PRO: sehr guter Sound, ordentliches Bild, sehr private Möglichkeit einen Film zu sehen ohne andere zu stören oder gestört zu werden.
Filme anschauen und dabei auf dem Sofa zu liegen ist eine ganz neue Erfahrung.
CON: Es lag nur ein Bedienungsmanual auf Chinesisch bei. Gerät ist relativ schwer. Nach zwei Stunden muss man auch deshalb Pause machen. Das Projektionsverfahren scheint anstrengend für die Augen zu sein. Nach zwei Stunden will man die Brille unbedingt absetzen.
BEWERTUNG: Effekt entspricht dem, allein in einem Kinosaal zu sitzen und auf eine große Leinwand zu schauen. Das Bild wirkt am besten, wenn die Umgebung abgedunkelt ist. Das Bild ist nicht randscharf bis in die Ecken - möglicherweise liegt das aber daran, dass ich einen leichten Astigmatismus habe (wie sehr viele) der nicht korrigiert werden kann.
Die Dioptrienkorrektur ist bei mir schon auf "Anschlag" obwohl meine Fehlsichtigkeit eher gering ist (minus 2).
In Anbetracht des günstigen Preises, den ich bezahlt habe, ein nettes Spielzeug mit gutem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.
Sicher auch schön bei Flug/Bahn/Busreisen zum Videos ansehen, ohne den Nachbarn zu nerven oder teilhaben zu lassen.
Das Gerät kann natürlich den PC Monitor jederzeit ersetzen. Ob man damit mobil Textverabeitung (diskret und uneinsehbar) machen möchte...? Ich jedenfalls nicht. Aber Mails lesen ohne Mitleser geht natürlich. Oder ein wenig im Internet surfen.
3D Filme die für Cardboards side by side produziert wurden kann man ansehen. 3D blu Rays für die üblichen elektronischen Brillen dagegen nicht.

Unschlagbar auf Reisen, vor allem im Flugzeug!

Ich habe den Glyph im Juli gekauft, da ich viel auf Geschäftsreisen bin und auf langen Flügen so ein bisschen mehr Privatsphäre haben wollte. Die Technik, die der Glyph verwendet, hatte mich auf das Gerät aufmerksam gemacht. Denn im Gegensatz zum Display vom Smartphone, wird das Bild quasi auf die Netzhaut projeziert und ist somit gestochen scharf. Keine Angst vor Netzhaut-Schäden oder Ähnlichem :) Der Glyph macht das, was die Umwelt im Prinzip auch macht, das Licht reflektiert auf der Netzhaut. Einmal richtig die Linsen und Abstände eingestellt und die Augen entspannen sich auch direkt. Der eigentliche Hammer ist aber die Kombination mit dem Sound. Ein Kracher 3D-Sound auf den Ohren, bei denen man auch gerne mal nen Action-Film im Flugzeug schauen kann, ohne den laschen Sound der Flugzeug Kopfhörer.

Schaut man in den Glyph, schaut man quasi wie auf eine Leinwand im Kino. Um das Video-Bild herum ist alles Schwarz und mit dem Hammer-Sound bekommt man auch das Gefühl in einer Privat-Vorstellung zu sitzen. Trotzdem kann man nach unten auch unter dem Glyph hinausschauen, was gerade auf Reisen auch praktisch ist, falls die Flugbegleiter vorbeischauen. Das stört allerdings beim Schauen überhaupt nicht, denn man konzentriert sich ja auf das Bild. Ich habe meistens Downloads von Netflix dabei und bin auch auf Langstreckenflügen, komplett in meine Filme und Serien gesogen. Einfach mit dem Adapter ans iPhone gestöpselt, los geht’s!

Weiteres, sehr praktisches Anwendungsgebiet ist tatsächlich das Arbeiten am Laptop! Über das HDMI Kabel kann ich einfach mein MacBook anschließen und sehe das Display in der Brille, ohne, dass jemand sehen könnte was ich arbeite. Super praktisch, vor allem wenn man mal Verträge oder Ähnliches bearbeitet. In der Enge der Flugzeuge, ist es ja quasi unmöglich, nicht auf den Klapptisch des Nachbarn zu schauen.

Top Feature, dass ich vor dem Kauf noch gar nicht richtig kannte, ist der 3D Modus. Auf YouTube und anderen Portalen findet man durchaus viel 3D Content, der im Side-by-Side Verfahren aufgenommen wurde. Den kann man durch kurzes Drücken der oberen Taste am linken Kopfhörer aktivieren und sieht das Bild quasi ins Auge springen ;) So einen Kracher 3D Effekt, habe ich in noch keinem Kino oder 3D-TV gesehen. Auch das 3D Bild meines LG TV Gerätes im Wohnzimmer kann da nicht mithalten.

Alles in allem muss ich sagen, dass der Glyph mich wirklich mehr als überzeugt hat. Auf Reisen vollkommen unschlagbar und auch zu Hause gar nicht so schlecht, wenn zum Beispiel Bundesliga läuft und die Freundin vielleicht andere Programmpläne hat ;) Man taucht mit der Brille sofort in eine andere Welt.

Einziges Contra zum Glyph wäre vielleicht die Größe auf Reisen. Allerdings muss der Sound und das scharfe Bild ja irgendwo herkommen und so mancher Noise-Cancellation Kopfhörer ist auch nicht kleiner.

La presentación y calidad del producto son excelentes, pero no cumple las expectativas en uso, pero si en calidad de imagen.

Incluye funda dura, y detalles como cobertor magnético y que las ópticas puedan replegarse, incomprensiblemente no incluye el adaptador minijack, y debe ser slim o si no no funcionará (en mi cas no pude, foto adjunta).

La imagen es nítida y de excelente calidad y luminosidad, el enfoque y ajuste también perfectos, pero hasta ahi lo bueno.

Tienen mucho potencial, la idea y diseño son bestiales, pero no lo puesta en práctica.
- Por ejemplo, tiene Bluetooth, pero NO podrás usarlo para escuchar música, solo vale para actualizar su firmware, totalmente incomprensible depender de un cable en su concepto de auriculares.
- Admite 3D Side by side (solo!), pero problemas de nuevo. No permite usar bluray3D, así que confórmate con streaming de YouTube o similares, del que a pesar de tener batería, dependerás de estar conectado a un dispositivo para verlo (no tiene memoria interna).
- La pantalla es realmente pequeña, es como ver una tablet de 10" a un metro de distancia. Comparado con mis Sony HMZ nada que ver, ridículamente pequeño el tamaño de la imagen, si lo comparo (en la foto) con otros de mis dispositivos (HTC vive, SonyVR, DJI...) están a años luz en cuanto a inmersión.
- El efecto 3D funciona, pero al verse la pantalla tan pequeña se pierde la inmersión y efecto.
- Olvídate de Bluray3D, no lo soporta.
- Audio justito, no es hifi. En la foto varías comparativas: Senheisser y Sony, las Glyph definitivamente no son wifi, cumplen lo justo.
- FPV: probablemente su mejor uso, lo mejor es poder ver mientras pilotas y no perder la vista perimetral, incluyen giroscopo, y en mi opinión son SU VERDADERO potencial, lo que no entiendo es no haberlas hecho más polivalentes. Como nota: olvídate de DJI, desde que tiene sus gafas (foto adjunta), no podrás usar las funciones giroscopicas, e incluso video, con sus últimos drones (mavic..). Y hablo de DJI porque es el mejor sistema de streaming del mercado, por si alguien tienen dudas: las DJI Googles están a otro nivel en todos y cada uno de los aspectos respecto a la glyph, incluyendo que pueden reproducir vídeo local sin depender de cables.

En resumen: excelente y diminuta imagen, sonido aprobado y puesta en práctica desastrosa, su concepto "portable" no es real, dependerás de cables y equipos a que conectarte, por suerte es la mejor opción FPV para drones que no sean DJI.

Una auténtica lástima, y de una oportunidad perdida de reinar el mercado.
