Also, my mother was an octopus, but number of limbs is a recessive gene.
I also wish that both of those width adjustment knobs were on the same side, instead of having to reach around the other side to get to the other one. The problems i've shown are mostly because I'm OLD & nothing is easy work for me now-a-days.
My old way was an (electronics vice), which only holds one side, but will hold any sized board.
I DO LIKE IT even with the issues (which are MINOR issues- ROY
It does have a couple flaws:
The thumb screws are too small and don't hold the "arms" in place well enough. So the arms will slowly slide away from each other and reduce the tension on the board you're trying to hold. The thumb screws should have been bigger, and metal.
The "fingers" at the top that hold the board have no way to lock them in place so if you have a heavier board you will have to prop it somehow.
It's a good size - large enough for any board I work on, metal base, 4 screws to assemble.
Not used yet - my only concern at this point is the arms are plastic and the set screws don't lock the board swivel very tight.
This may allow the board to twist while working on it. Will update if any problems come up...
Ok, updating even though I haven't had a problem yet...
Just used this on a couple of small boards (a buck converter and Wemos Mini Pro), let me restate my original opinion... Sweeet!
Next to print a few add-ons for it but yeah, if your looking, buy it!
